I am cursing myself for not buying myself a Christmas Present of Gray's Anatomy as I have never seen it, but it looks really good (and I can't find it on You Tube - why has nobody downloaded it so I don't have to pay:D)
Then I wouldn't have to know how rubbish the TV is :)

Greys Anatomy is the best (I love American Medical Dramas) especially some of the season endings, which are great.

Season 7 is coming to sky this week, I can not wait, something decent on telly (albeit through sky which I have to pay extra for)

This year kinda sucked for us. I remember (even though its been repeated loads of times) seeing Space Camp every year around New Years time, and couldn't find it on anywhere.

Yes there is a lot of repeats on this time of year, most of it total c***, but movies I don't mind, yes most movies people have either got at home, seen on sky or saw at the cinema/friends house, but a few Christmas classics I don't mind...

I think the BBC just need to stop paying such high wages and spend some of that money on decent shows that we all want, and not just some that the 'BBC lovers' want.
Matthew, Izzy, Suzie, Harry, Darwin. My husband my cats, the main things that matter in my life...
  • I bitterly resent my tv licence payment every month. I get so mad at these overindulgent, overpaid, overfed, overopinionated windbags that are at the 'top' of the BBC tree that do sod all frankly and certainly dont listen to what WE want and what WE want to see. Why dont they hold a referendum and then lets see how many last - a bit like politicians actually. that would be great to get that one televised - the ratings would be sky high!!!!

Rant over - I loved the 3 parter of Oliver Twist. That was fantastic telly and boy the acting was superb. The Queen looked nice in purple. Simon Cowell was nowhere to be seen (tgft), the Upstairs Downstairs was as irritating as the first one - what was wrong with Roses mouth and teeth - Lady whojit (Sir Hallams mum) had too much to say - if murder was legal I would have bumped her off straight away!! There was no Creature Comforts and I really really missed that.
Grown up kids had plenty of crap to watch though (31 and 23). I just closed my eyes and prayed for January2nd.

    rumours that BBC4 may go.

I hope not - that's one of the main channels that I watch - they have some great dramas (e.g. The Men in the Moon, Enid), documentaries (e.g. Mark Gatiss's History Of Horror), science (e.g Chemistry: a Volatile History) and music ( e.g the ..Britannia series that so far has covered Folk, Metal, electronic and Punk I think)

Unfortunately if they went with what the majority of what the British public want, I suspect we'd end up with even more lowest-denominator cr*p such as Celebrity EastEnders in the Jungle Antiques Property Market Reality X-factor Roadshow.....

I think you are right there. Totally right. They always come out with assinine comments like 'we are giving the public what they want' - oh yeah. Mind you I work with alot of people who just love that kind of prog. The passion and energy they give when they are going through the list of crap they have watched on a Monday morning beggars belief. If I then chuck something in like ' did anyone watch John Pilgers documentary about war last night' they all go (and in unison) who? and roll their eyes and continue to talk crap about the crap they watched that the BBC had put on so that feeds their crap lives with even more crap!!!!! I apologise for the over use of the word crap but I dont want to swear......
  • Sky Arts and the Disney Channels do well with Limited (Sky Arts) or no Advertising. The BBC uses its media organisation to publish cross media advertising at will, just today the BBC local radios have been in tune with their editors in chief to publicise something on the second channel at 8 tonight. Shame watchdog will not do a program on the TV Tax.

The Tudors Season 4 has been shown in the US (april 2010!), Canada, Australia, Germany etc. DVDs are out in the US and coming out elsewhere. BBC America purchased the rights from CBS to screen seasons 1-4.

Despite this, we are still waiting for season 4 to be screened here! It is not a rights issue but a lazy !!! broadcasters issue. Been saying Spring 2011 for months, no doubt it'll be pushed back further.

What is the point of me avoiding tv share websites when I can sit and watch the whole series tright away. Or not importing the dvds from the US??

You realise that Sky Arts is paid for via subscription?

It always amuses me when people like you attack the BBC for something that is standard practice with everyone else. It shows a fundamental lack of knowledge of the actual issues.

And the Disney channel is one long advert - it doesn't need advert breaks, almost every programme on it has heaps of related merchandise :)

One of the amusing things about a lot of complaints about the BBC not doing more "less popular" stuff, is that the only reason the BBC can do much of the "less popular" stuff is because everyone pays so they don't have to worry about getting ratings (thus advertisers).

If the BBC went the advert or sub route it wouldn't be able to do the less popular stuff as much as it does now:)
