BBC - Why am I paying my Licence Fee

I am not generally one to complain, but, it's New Years Eve - I know a lot of the country goes out, but a lot of people don't, so, after spending a while trying to work out of there was anything to watch, we figured that Johnathan Creek was the best thing on. So, we settle down to watch, and 30 seconds in - oh look it's a repeat:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Surely I am not the only one who doesn't go out because I have a young family? Would it be so difficult to put something new on?

We figured on Question of Sport only to find it was a repeat. Eastenders is too depressing and all the shows we normally watch are over for Xmas so we've resorted to the xBox and shooting some people in Black Ops! I'm preggers so a dry night for me and I'll probably be tucked up before midnight.
Oh don't know if it's all BBC channels but Snow Patrol are on at 10pm on one of them but it may be Northern Ireland only. Considering most of the country went to see them, us included, it's a bit much for it to be on again so soon. The joys of having a young family and being stuck at home on NYE! Wouldn't change it for the world though :A0 -
I agree so many channels and absolutely nothing worthwhile watching (apart from the Bears!)
Every year its the same, catering to a certain age group and giving the fingers up to anyone that doesn't, or cannot go partying. Its a disgrace. I for one will be glad when we can get back to some reasonable programming. When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0 -
Sat down to watch Question of Sport - and what do we get - yet another excuse for the BBC to ram celebrity dancing down our throats.
When was the last time there was a person on this program who is actually involved in sport, rather than someone who retired 10 years ago or some minor celeb on the BBC freebie gravy train.
If the BBC want to produce dumbed down celeb oriented rubbish then they should go head to head against the commercial channels, and finance themselves in the same way.
Needless to say the Xbox went on 20 seconds later.0 -
