Am busy packing but am quite happy to announce that when I moved in here my stash filled a large plastic stacking box, and three medium sized cardboard boxes, it now still fills the stacking box but is only two cardboard boxes! Doesn't feel like I've used up that much stuff but clearly I have managed. Just have to find a home for it all now in the flat when we get the keys at the weekend!.It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Tara - I run too, or should I say used to...... Although I will be starting again once i've had bump, i've signed up for the GNR and deferred my London place til 2012.... hopefully will give me a kick up the bum to get the baby weight off too.....
Yay, and good for you!!! What distance is the GNR?mandymoomoo wrote: »Tara - Well done on your money saving tactics, and a very impressive little saving pot you have there.
I've also been thinking about going running, so we can jog together.... Did join the gym
last year, but realised for me, it wasn't worth the money, I'd be better off putting the £30 a month to our first home. And figured as its free to go running, I should start that up. Any tips for a complete novist?
ThanksIt is not easy to save money sometimes but it is well worth it.
It's defo better to run outside than in a gym imho so that's £30 well saved! No tips, I first started by doing intervals - wlaking fast, then breaking into a run when I'd warmed up, stopping when I felt tired, then repeating over and over till I was running continuously. Tomorrow's run is probably only going to last 20 minutes (including the walking bits!) as I haven't been for a run in MONTHS and haven't been running seriously for about 3 years.
I run as well, I'll be your virtual running partner if you like. In fact I think that's 4 of us on here so we can report miles covered, or add them into signature perhaps. Seeing as it's Jan it's a good place to start - I've done 5.5 miles tonight at the running club
Oooh, a running club! Where did you join that? Wish I could find one around here
No pampering this evening for me, just a massive pile of ironing (yuuuuk). I hate it!
Trying to decide whether to bother with Boots 75% sale or not... definitely not staying up online but might have alook instore tomorrow morning if it's started. Hi
Posted your stuff todayDo you want to know what it is or a surprise? xo
Ooh, a surprise please :TI positively encourage it, I reuse jiffy/padded envelopes too!!!!
Good news on the running club! I'm starting tomorrow, the countdown is on
Excellent. I always reuse packing stuff where possible, but you never know if other people don't like this.
Do you think it's a good idea to post miles on here, then us runners can encourage each other? I'm finding it really tough going at the moment, can't find any enthusiasm from anywhere. I'm plodding on anyway.

My running club is only a couple of miles up the road which is great. I've been running for about 5.5 years now, but I'm not one of these people who want to climb the walls if I can't run for any reason - I wish I was in some ways! I do it for the social aspect and have made some great mates there. Are you anywhere near Dub Lane / Upper Malone Road? Just did a really quick Google search for running clubs in Belfast and that was top of the list. It's really worth joining, I'd have given up yonks ago if it wasn't for the club to be honest.0 -

Did you mean you don't have a way of measuring them? You could try https://www.mapmyrun.com you basically click along your route on a map and then it tells you how far it is. It's quite accurate as well so well worth it if you'd like a rough idea of how far you've done0 -

I'm not that far from there!!! Spooky!I do want to join a club, I think it would motivate me to go when i don't feel like it, and I'm a sociable creature

Pranged my car Saturday, got a fine for forgetting to validate my tube ticket today and.....this one will bring a tear to your eye....found out I had won £1,000 in a competition yesterday but because my house is so full of clutter I hadn't noticed and the closing date to claim my prize was July 2010.:(:(:(:(:(
I'm trying to be strong........you guys on here are helping me....! :T
I'm valuing the important things in life like my family friends and pets.....but I may have to go and play with my S&G box to heal properly.....!!
Oh dear! Reminds me of a time years ago when we were really really struggling moneywise - we'd applied for housing benefit, but heard nothing back....however, at the same time we were also going through a bit of a phase of not wanting to open post as it always seemed to be bills asking for money we didn't have....yep, you've guessed it, a few months later when things had improved slightly we braved the pile of envelopes onto to find a cheque from the housing Ben people which would have gone a long way towards paying the previous months rent! Feeling sorry for myself, but I'm at least proud to announce that when I got my antibiotics today I walked past some shelves in T's announcing some good 3 for 2 deals etc. Picked up a mouthwash, wondered whether to get it, decided I didn't need one yet and put it back. TBH I just wanted to get back home, but even so...
Hope you're feeling better soon!
