  • I've been reading and loving this thread for a while now and I'm thinking that I should join, although I've already failed as I ordered one of those Soap and Glory value sets! I have a pink tote bag already and I spent £80 in the Lush sale after Christmas!

    Hey Pickle!

I use Mir Argan Oil which is £17.50 for 30ml. I usually only use it for moisturising, although I did try it with the Oil Cleansing Method last night with a few drops of Castor Oil just to see what it was like.

Mine usually lasts me about a year to 18 months, but I use a tiny bit and press it into my face and neck at night.

    HTH hon. :D

 Jacks! Think I will investigate the oil method, and it will be a good moisturiser anyway. :)

Wow welcome to all the newbies :)

I'm laying here battling with myself to get in the shower because when I get out I'll have to use my S&G lite body lotion and I hate it :( it's just too runny for me, takes ages to soak in and doesn't leave me feeling as soft afterwards like body butter. It's more like perfumed lotion than anything else. Very tempted to chuck it (it was an carboot buy at 50p, unopened/unused) I'm half way through it and if I really slathered it on I could prob get through it in about a week. It's the only one I've got open at the mo since using the up the other 2 body butters I already had open, and I did say I'd use up what was open but these feels like torture! lol

Yep know what you mean, you wouldn't believe how quickly my Simple Derma Lotion is going down with the generous applications I am giving

I have 2 more UU to report, S&G wipes and Time Delay Wipes... however i must confess I totally cheated with the TD wipes as I used them to clean up the excess paint when painting the glass window style doors - they worked beautifully, worrying what we put on our faces!!! In my defence I have had them at least 18 months since some Boots glitch or other so at least they were used :T WIBA - prob not, they both smell a bit chemically and I am enjoying cleansing/ toning etc these days.

Glad you all seem well, am really enjoying this chatter and I second the weekly email nudge :money:

PS Thanks Essex, will edit sig with date in a mim, you are winning already!

PPS My hubby just asked what I was saving the £2 for, to which I smiled... he immediately said "not more cosmetics!" :D

QONMW - what a shame the glitch didn't work for you! OK everyone, I was browsing the Harrods site (for the first time ever lol) in the sale, drooling over the designer bags, then checked out the toiletries section and lo and behold, this was priced at £20 but adding to basket at £0.00!!!

    http://www.harrods.com/product/molton-brown/global-bath-and-shower-gift/000000000001976190?icid=search-result

Anyhoo, decided to order 'a few' :o and also added some shampoo in the hope that it would slip through. Got an email from Harrods the next day saying 'item out of stock' (noooo) but.... it was the shampoo that was OOS!!! And now the order is marked as 'goods issued'!!!!! I will let you all know if I receive it, would be soooo chuffed :)

    UPDATE!

The first parcel has been received by the courier and the second has been 'issued' but is not trackable yet! I am giddy with excitement!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):):):):):):):)

  • well I caved and opened a tube of S&G butter up instead, not a fave but nice enough (much nicer than the lite body lotion) and 2 in the stash to be used, I think I'll alternate them until the body lotion stuff is gone...and I won't be buying it again (even if it's 50p at a carboot lol)

I'm a using a body shop vitamin e facial bar (soap) at the mo until I buy some face wash or locate some S&G clean mary but not much chance of that seeing it's been discontinued grrr. The soap it works so well my face squeeks when I use it (how very bizarre!)

So anyway, I'm showered, using S&G clean on me and vit e facial bar, used S&G face wipes to clean away residual mascara, creamed face with vit e moisture mask (using as night cream) applied body cream (s&g butter up) and now off to enjoy a couple of episodes of sex and the city before sleep.

I'm really starting to see which products I really love and which I don't. Next year I'm going to resist the S&G big christmas offer unless it's full of products I love, because while I love s&g there are just some products which I don't love as much as others. There are a few bits from the hatbox last year that I'm working through which are nice but not amazing, and some in the tote bag this year I'm not sure about. someone hold me to this when the hype kicks off next year!

My fave items so far are:
    Showergel - S&G clean girls
Body Butter - S&G the daily smooth Vs FCUK whipped body butter
Day Cream - Body Shop Vitamin e illuminated but can't wait to try the S&G 21 day
Night cream- Jury is still out
Hand cream - The body shop hemp hand cream (stinks but works a treat) Vs The body shop vitamin e
Face wipes - S&G are my fave but not always affordable so end up using wilkinsons which work great
Face scrub - S&G scrub your nose in it
Face wash - jury is out because S&G have discontinued clean mary grrrr and I have to find another one

anyway nite everyone, I have a date with carrie bradshaw ;)

one IN for me, but i did need more of it :) it's rescue oil from poundland
  • I had to throw a product out. It was a Clinique All About Lips product. Everytime I use it I get little spots around my lip. Not good.

Doing well so far - although you lot don't half recommend some stuff! The problem with that being that I *need* to go to Boots this weekend for some head and shoulders for the DH and some toothpaste. Eek. I will be strong.

Hope everyone is having a good week (why is it only Tuesday?!).

Is it worth selling toiletries we're not keen on, on ebay??? I've often thought about it, but to be honest I never seem to make that much money on ebay, maybe i'm not selling the right stuff???

Welcome newbies - this thread works as i've not even wanted to look at buying any toiletries in the sales, although i might be tempted to have a look on Lush website to see what all the hype is about

yes! It is worth it... especially if you are likely to leave it in a cupboard... I've sold mainly s&g and ruby and millie oh and posh hair stuff and dermalogica.

    An example of me selling on ebay;

    e.g. bought loads of s&g half price and a big pink box. cost was £40 and I've made £20 selling the stuff I don't like. Thus keeping;

    perfume (s&g) x2
one large and three small flake aways.
some of those other s&g scrubs
    righteous butters
2 packs of facewipes... I could go on... but there's more than £20 worth of stuff left :) actually I should add it up!

but then I've also been selling the boxes/bags too...I start all at 99p and haven't made a lot on these, but seeing as it was packaging it was worth it.

This thread is so brill but cant keep up! Cleared out all the toiletries today, got 3 boxes full all ready to be used up. However, appears I am not the only hoarder in this house - OH has 9 bottles of shower gel on the go. Told him about the challenge but just could not get his buy in....!!!! x
