Hello everybody.....I need to join!! I got a big box of Soap and Glory stuff for Christmas which i love. It has 2 or 3 body scrubs in it but i already have 1 on the go so using that first. To save temptation i have put out only 1 of everything so it gets used up. I hate half used stuff everywhere!! Got lots of moisturisers so have kept one in the bathroom which is a spray for the days when i'm in a hurry and 1 upstairs for when i have more time. All the rest of the toiletries in a box ready for when needed. (hidden from DD1 so shes not tempted either!!) My ex MIL bought me a lovely Clarins set but unfortunately it doesn't suit me. Going to put the beauty balm on ebay and recycle the rest for gifts! My problem is i'm a consultant for VIE at home so its all so tempting! However i have everything i need and am not going to be tempted! Need to make money not spend it!

This is a great thread thankyou. xx

Welcome aboard, not only to the thread but to MSE as a whole - a completely new way of life is about to open up before you! :rotfl:
Yes, one of always being skint due to having spent all your spare dosh on beauty glitches! :rotfl:

    Welcome all newbies :D

Gosh, I almost can't keep up here! :rotfl:

Ooh! Another 2 UUs from yesterday: Elle McPherson Bare Bodywash WIBA? No. Again, it was a perfectly passable product. I just don't like the smell :o
And a No7 Mascara - the one in the gold tube, with a green wand WIBA? Well, it came free with one of the little bags they did, so never actually bought it in the first place. But I liked it; it gave good definition and seperation.

Well i've bathed, showered, scrubbed, cleansed, toned and moisturised and body buttered, removed my nail polish and straightened my hair but not one use up yet :(

I only have about 4 cotton wool balls left in the pack so i know im going to have used them by the end of today!

Don't think i've actually spent so much time pampering myself in a long time... i think this challenge is going to be good for me ;)

I actually managed a shift at work tonight (2nd job) in Superdrug without buying anything.... although i did notice a new garnier body cream and new nivea deoderant but didn't look at them closely.... have warned everyone in the shop im doing this challenge so most of them will refuse to serve me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm experimenting with using hand cream as face cream. This is to use stuff up as much as anything and to spin my expensive (for me) Olay Total Effects with Self Tanner out.

Having read Ben Goldacre's 'Bad Science' I know that simple hydrobase cream is as effective as anything, but I do like to use products that have some sun protection in them.

Two of my hand creams do have SPF, Dove Pro-Age and Nivea Q10. The Nivea is very sticky when on the skin and I won't use it again unless in extremis, but the Dove worked really well and has now been promoted from hand cream to face cream.

its great isnt it, when my laptop broke last year I realy missed the reminder this thread gave me to do all that stuff as often...obviously I still washed :rotfl: but it terms of scrubbing, body moistursing etc I was hardly doing it at all...I remember going to the gym a few months ago and feeling embaressed to get my legs out because they were scaly and dry, yet I had tonnes of body butter sitting at home screaming out to be used:rotfl:p.s and not a scaly leg in sight today:T

Quick early morning check-in to report a UU - a tiny Clinique Plumping lip gloss that was part of a GWP - WIBA? probably not - no better or worse than any other. There also seemed to be a lot left in the tube after I got to the point of not being able to get any out on the wand.

My Olay serum started spluttering this morning too - I have a Boots Expert one to go on with when that finishes. Will drag a lip gloss out of the drawer to use next.

    Have a good day ladies!

Morning ladies! I have a few splutterers atm, am impatient to get them used up! I had a fab pampering evening yesterday with my new S&G righteous butter and my new Tangle Teezer (it is amazing, got it for £3 on Amazon).

Tara - hope you get your stuff soon.... would defo be the glitch of the centuary!

I've just checked... both parcels are now with the courier woo hoo!!! I am determined not to add to my stash (well, maybe one :D ) so will sell most of them. If I can sell them I am going to use the money to buy myself something I've always wanted but haven't (on cost grounds).

  • Welcome everyone new! Don't take ANY advice, or leads from me as I have to confess to some INs as seen on Grabbit (bad, bad place!)

I got 1 x 100ml bottle of Urban Retreat Reverie perfume
1 x 100ml bottle of Urban Retreat (I will call it UR from now on...sign of the extent of my sinning!) Rendevous perfume
1 x UR face base and blusher for medium skin tones
1 x UR face base and blusher for light skin tones (not sure what would be the best match, only had light, medium and dark so I'm sure it will suit me or my sisters can benefit (all have different skin tones)!)
    1 x double UR mascara

all for the grand total of £20.40 and that includes £4.50 P&P  . I'm relatively happy at that price as it should all be a lot higher.

I must say it was due to not receiving any perfume at Christmas (a first for me!) and I had itchy feet/palms/credit card - delete as appropriate!!

Hopefully I like the perfumes if not at £4.50 each for 100ml I really can't complain and will try and ebay them!

In regards to the foundation - I am nearing the end of both pots of my current open stash foundations and am finding one of the shades to be a bit orange! Don't you hate it when you buy the same shade you always have from the same brand and it is just not right! (No7 - one of the only times I have ever been let down by them :( )

And to carry on the excuse making - I used a mascara from the stash today and have had a sore and itchy eye ever since so that will be getting chucked tonight when I get home - so a UU there :A lol

I will be finishing a shampoo and conditioner set I got to trial tonight - I think it was a Pantene one but not too sure so WIBA it was ok, nice and fresh smelling but I can't wait to get back to my TIGI - unless it has been used up by everyone else! (Likely!)

Tara you are one lucky devil! I hope there are some more glitches on the way - the best ones do seem to come at the start of the year don't they :rotfl:

Have a good day ladies xx
