Well, yes, I did do rather well on value for money :D:D:D:D

Wish I'd bought the big tub of Elasticizer when it was 30% off at New Year on HQHair!!! How do you apply it? I am going to use my little 20ml up before deciding whether to splash out but don't want to do it wrong. TIA!

Mega congrats on zero spend in January!!! :T:T:T

    Thank you sweetie! :) I struggled! :D

My hair is a long bob. (well, longer at the front bob!) I damp my hair down, comb out the tangles, pump some Elasticizer onto my hands, grab a section of hair and then make dreadlocks!

I apply product to the length of the hair (from just above the top of the ears down for most of the way round) twist the section round into a "dreadlock",then grab another section and do the same. You use less product that way rather than dolloping it on the top of your head, and you don't need it on the roots except in areas where you do more styling with heat. (I do my fringe and crown a little because those areas get more heat and hairdye than most of the rest of my hair.)

My friend does exactly the same as I do, but then she combs it through with a wide tooth comb. She says it goes further still that way.

    HTH cherub! :A

Oops - I have a final purchase of the month to confess to for yesterday - and it's all your fault!!!! :rotfl:

I have purchased 3 of the Batiste dry shampoos for £3.49 in SD :)

to be fair my tresemme dry shampoo did run out today so I did need at least 1 tin ;)

    So January looks like this:-
    UU = 8
    Total spend = £9.43

Think I'm happy with that but will try and do better in February ;)

I've been wondering for a while if this thread is actually helping me give up buying lovely smellies or encouraging me to to buy more. As I read this post by lynseydee, I hoofed it to the front door where I had angelically :A put my AVON catalogue without even opening it to look for the BOGOF offer on bubblebath...!! :rotfl:Do you think I got my answer!! Luckily  it had already been collected and I was saved from myself!

I'm cold turkey for Feb, and for anyone else like me who is new to all these threads, I just found the new link: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3020750

Fortunately, or unfortunately, as the case may be, the offer was buy 500ml get 1 litre free. I don't usually buy bubble bath when it's on bogof but felt this offer was too good to miss.
    Did owe £9,951.96

This was me!!! Have another product to UU before I get to this. Glad I only paid £5.99 for it.

Hi, I'm glad you didn't pay a lot for it. I got mine in a swap and am glad I didn't pay for it either! Let me know how you get on.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • Hi Everybody,

I have been reading this thread and it really does make me laugh as it is me all over.

Yesterday I decided to count the amount of stuff I have in my house and it came to 894 items.

This consists of shampoo, conditioner, hiar repair products, shower gel, soap, liquid soap, bubble bath, hand cream, face creams, face washes, deodorants, tooth paste, mouthwash, hair removal items. But I have not included any make up, lush stuff or perfume.

So I really do think I need to stop buying and start using the items I have. My hubby goes mad as it seems to be everywhere. I have a stock in both the bathrooms, the airing cupboard as been changed into a store room and the garage has alot of stuff in it as well.

So I dont know if I will get withdrawal symptoms but I am going to start by saying that I am not spending a penny in February 2011.

    Take care
