One of the things that cracked going to Boots and other places and buying too much stuff was doing more volunteering. I work full time and regularly volunteer with 2 different organisations (running Brownies and Guides and at a community theatre) my husband does lots at the community theatre too and we are both in a music group and help to run out. I hardly have time for shopping now, when I have a free day at the weekend I want to spend it at home/going for a walk not fighting my way round Boots.
In November we were away the first weekend, he did stuff at the threatre for the next three, I was there for one of those and away with the guides for another and then the last weekend we were snowed in and we spent so little money but still had a great time.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Going to use up a shower gel tonight by adding it to an existing bubble bath and water to make it all go further, then use it all as hand wash (upstairs and downstairs) and bubble bath
Ive decided I dont like showergels. I acutally just like Dove soap! Luckily I only have 2 bottles of showergel left (1 after later) - its shampoo and conditioner thats my little 'thing' My hair is cropped so dont use conditioner anymore - so will be using it as fabric conditioner!Loan finished Sep 2010 - HSBC CC - WAS £750 now £0! Maybe thats the trick to avoid Boots is to fill those Saturday mornings or trips during lunch or after work with other stuff.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

How about we introduce a one in one out scheme here for anyone on the naughty step? Which might I say looks like it needs an extension!!!!!
So the deal is if you fail to resist and buy UNNECESSARY (deliberately shouting to myself here too) toiletries you have to get rid of the equal (or double?) amount of stuff. But no spotting a few dusty lipsticks and thinking mmm they've failed the EH freshness test they can be traded for a hatbox etc. And by get rid of stuff we do this responsibly - so unused stuff in your stash goes to a friend, family member, neighbour, homeless shelter.
Does anyone think that would work?:)Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

*sighs* Off you go to the naughty step...one minute for each year of your life, just like SuperNanny says! :rotfl:
OK ladies, celebrate, as I believe I may have scored a good 'un over Mr Boots! As I think I mentioned I had another couple of S&G items to exchange. As Mum & I were out today I decided that today was the day so off I went with the facewipes (from the tote bag) and the Girligo spray (that I got by accident). Agreed the value with an SA as £7.20, then off we wandered to see what I wanted. I remembered the FCUK offer with the free gift, and as I am currently using the Polished Sugarscrub and liking it, I decided that another one of these was a good start at £5.11 so grabbed that and the matching freebie. That left £2.09 to spend, however, the secret weapon in my armoury was the £5 No 7 voucher lurking in my bag! :rotfl: That really meant a pack of face wipes, so I grabbed those too, and then headed to the checkout.....where as well as the £5 voucher I also produced a 250 points on a No. 7 product!Definitely a result - ended up with a tub of body scrub, the free gift, a pack of wipes, 250 extra points and 9p change! *takes a bow*. :A
This means that the £25 spend on the tote bag has now given me some gorgeous products all of which I like and will use, plus a tube of The Daily Smooth, two other brand bubble baths, a pack of No. 7 face wipes and the FCUK stuff, plus effectively £2.50 off the price thanks to the extra points voucher! Happy Bunny here!
One OUT today - the small Clinique Mascara I had been using was traded in at Debenhams for a High Lengths one in the same size. I suppose technically there are rather a lot of INs but they didn't cost a brass farthing!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

one UU from this morning:
S&G Hair Supply WIBA? No, i don't like this at all, it does nothing for my hair but leave it feeling coated in something and frizzy! Have tried keeping in for 1 min, 2 mins, 3 mins, 5 mins and 10 mins....nothing changed. I just do not like the stuff at all, and am very glad to see the back of it!0 -
