I have some catching up to do so....
Pinkphonix I love QVC for the Elemis sets they do. Great value and Elemis really suits my skin type. I don't save it for special occasions - I just get stuck in. If you do make it off the sofa don't reach for the phone - go for the lap top as you get 5% cashback through Quidco. (Does enabling mean I have to go to my very own naughty step??)
I can't remember who said they were hating the Burts Bees foot cream but I am sharing your hate. It is horrible, really greasy and just unpleasant to use. But I will persevere :money:
Thanks for the feedback on the fish exfoliation. I have a day off on Friday and I am going to pop along. I will feedback to let you all know how it goes.
It terms of hoarding I had a really bad problem with handbags. But managed to get a hold on this a few years ago. Someone else mentioned tights and it had never occurred to me before but I would have to say that I hoard these all colours, patterns and denier. These outgrew my drawer some years ago and I now have a very large plastic crate at the bottom of my build in wardrobes.

So I'm just going to enjoy the eventual mounting up of some spare cash in my bank account. Surely?!
Welcome BA! You're going to find your every spare thought is taken up with using up your toiletries now!:D
I know what you mean. I'm in the same boat (though not because I have lots of small sizes!). You could do what I'm doing, and just keep a note of how many items you've used up and then translate that into cash when you can afford it. I think I'm going to wait until end of year (or maybe July when it's my b'day) and by then hopefully I'll have the funds to be able to translate UUs into ££££££££s to spend on something nice (like mroe toiletries :rotfl:).0 -

Ha ha. That was me. My sympathies are with you. I only had a 15ml tube to use so slathered it all on in one go when I realised how gunky it is!0 -
Also have to agree with Kaz as well. I am really watching what I am spending my hard earned cash on. I have been on the ball with other things before Christmas - car insurance, RAC Membership, energy supplier, home phone & internet etc. Food and groceries shopping is what I am focusing on as that is an area I think I can make a good few savings. I live alone so I am not too bad at meal planning and batch cooking but there is still room for improvement. I have been checking out the old style group and there is some good tips there.
I want to overpay on my mortgage and I am having a look at what realistically I can do. Currently my job is secure as it can be given the current climate but I want to build a money cushion just in case. I like what some people are doing here about money in the pot after each UU. I am already in the sealed pot challenge and think I will adopt this as well. Think I will set a £2 per UU item.No buying toiletries Graduated May 2017Decluttered 2016 2469 items, 2017 1580 items :j2018 3060 itemsSealed Pot Challenge No 0380 -

I do have one of these vouchers as I recently topped up my mobile phone in Boots but I have plenty of shower gels to keep me going for a while.
It's horrible that the forum will be down tomorrow - I probably won't have much time to post on here anyway but I will miss having 5 mins (who am I kidding, and the rest!) or so reading all of your interesting posts.
I was shocked when I looked this morning and realised that the blissful body wash was now £9! That is a LOT of dosh for what is essentially just a shower gel!Hi blonde ambition *waves like a loon*!
I'm with you on the economising, I was just checking my bank and we've lost £12k of savings. !!!!!!! Not lost exactly but new(er) car this year, DH's every other day shop in asda etc etc has frittered 6.5K. Since June.
It's not entirely him, I've just prionted out all the bank statements for the last year and my phone bill went from £10 a month in August to £25/month for the last 6 months. Not happy as I'm on a contract and I can't actually access my online bills. I'll be ditching the phone at that price as I don't need it.
DH's going to go mad. I'm really upset. It goes to show what happens when you take your eye off the ball doesn't it?
Ugh to taking your eye off the ball. I sympathise as I think we've all been there to some extent. I completely lost track over electricity useage last year - it was only late in the year when I got back to monitoring it regularly and of course in that time we'd gone back to using the washing machine during the day rather than on cheap electric, and stuff like that. Not a massive impact, but enough to annoy me nonetheless.Blonde_Ambition wrote: »Hi Kaz. Thanks for the welcome. You're so right, things can creep up on you. My work situation is a bit unstable so I've been saving as much as I can. I expected to end the year with my bills account equalling one month's salary but instead it would barely cover a month's bills. I looked and a few bills had gone up quietly, including a 50% increase on my flat's service charge. How? Why? Anyway, back to nice smelly things!
I've just uu a Nivea Visage cleansing foam (travel sized). Wiba? No way. Left my skin shiny and a bit blotchy. Back to the Boots cleanser which just goes on and on.

Challenge the service charge thing. Also chat with some of your neighbours and find out what they know about the increase. If your managing company have leaseholder meetings consider attending one too - they aren't massively exciting things but can be useful - we actually got the cost of the cleaning reduced slightly following making it clear that we didn't feel we were geting the service being charged for.
Popped into Boots this morning to check what their take was on returning Soap & Glory items. They are quite happy for me to do so and exchange for "like for like" so I will do that in due course. First up to swap will be the Flakeaway and the Shampoo I think. What to swap them for will be the question though - might go for Righteous Butter and Calm One, Calm All as I already have lots of shower gels & washes in stash but don't have any more bubble bath. Will have to have a browse online to see what I fancy I think. Also took the chance for a quick chat with the SA on the subject of the 75% sale - the SA's really don't think it's going to happen now - she said that it's unheard of for them not to know the date of it by this stage and apparently 50% sales are going well.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Good day today another UU!
Nu Nale nail repair cream, can't remember where I got it but I got it because I'd had gel nails and they really messed up my fingernails.
WIBA - yes if I needed it. It did a good repair job quite quickly and was reasonably priced IIRC.0 -
Have bought 3 packets of Boots wipes with £5 off and 3 for 2 offer. Also have bought an eyeshadow set with £5 off voucher. Have used up a big bubble bath bottle, a body butter and a shower gel.0

I might get a mascara (I can only use it for No 7 or Ruby and Millie) because that is the only make up item I have only one of.

They think of amazing reasons why I need they stuff! One lady was saying how Elemis stuff keeps for 2 years and it would be brilliant to save for a special occasion!
Haven't bought yet as can't walk properly and couldn't reach the phone!:rotfl:
That's why I relented I reckon. I was feeling under the weather yesterday and was sitting there waiting to ring into work when the TSV came on. Don't know what my excuse today is though as I've also ordered some OPI lacquers from them In my 'defence they are at clearance price (just about normal Ebay prices but good by QVC standards!). I was looking at the new OPI collection due to be released in February and thinking that the only one I like the look of is the brown colour. My favourite OPI brown is Espresso Your Style which is difficult to get hold of (think it's now discontinued) and I remembered that QVC had it in a kit. This is the kit (which also contains Thank you Muchness (my daughter's favourite)) that has been reduced so I thought I'd get it. I don't think it's hoarding if you are replacing a bottle that's run out is it?Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
