I was chatting to OH about Avon the other day. He asked if I kept a record of how much time I spent on it. I said I didn't particularly, his response was that if it was less than £5 per hour I should consider giving it up :eek:.
My response was.... well, if I can find another job where I can decide when I work, doing half an hour here & there, not working if there's something on at school/playgroup or if someone's ill, I'll think about it :rotfl:
I'm quite happy with my £30-40 per campaign towards school holiday fun! Yes, it's hard work but if suits my lifestyle.
The other thing to remember, is that you can save money on your toiletries etc for your family. I spend far less now on shampoo / conditioner / shower gel etc Never mind the make-upso there are 'earnings' there too.
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0 -
Basically they credited me £30 when they shouldn't so took it back as well as another £30. I did manage to get it sorted though and my balance is what it should be as they credited the £30 they shouldn't have taken back to me. If I hadn't been doing my own accounts I wouldn't have been any the wiser!
Good, so you're all square. Glad you're keeping a note yourself; it's really a good idea.
First thing I check on every invoice is to see if I've been recharged for (supposedly) not returning goods I've requested credit for. Little amounts tend to 'slip through' if you're not careful! If you are recharged eroneously just email/call Avon and confirm the bar code on your return label and they should then allow you the correct amount of credit you're due.
Can get really complicated unless you make sure that every campaign you've paid what you owe after deducted credit for any returns you're making i.e. return your o/s balance to £0 every campaign. As mentioned earlier, it can take Avon a few days to catch up with you so keep a check yourself to avoid problems further down the line.Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

As, NB, says you could try Avon Connects; theoretically that will give you the details of a rep close to you. Having said that I input the details of a neighbour of mine (we have the same postcode) and it offered a rep - not me :mad: - 5 miles away!!!
Other options - why not be an Avon rep yourself or failing that you can order online and get cashback, eventually, from Quidco?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

This is such a random question but how do you organise all your avon stuff?! I have been trying to sort mine this evening and be ruthless about it but there's just so much stuff!! :rotfl:0

I've managed to fit all mine into one of those crates that you get for kids toys etc.
All next times catalogues in the bottom, new order forms etc along the side. Any calling cards/written order forms have one of those giant paperclip things to keep them together. Have a plastic A4 file which has paperwork in - again a giant paperclip for each campaign.
I have a smaller basket which fits on top which has samples, demo products & any returns which are waiting.
Am quite impressed by how compact I've managed to keep it :TUnless you walk in on a Monday/Thursday afternoon while I'm sorting out catalogues :rotfl:

Hi, does anyone know if there are any training guides on how to use the SL SMA mapping system?
Sorry, no, it's a matter of trial and error am afraid. Our Upliners are supposed to train us but sometimes we overtake them so..... tends to be a matter of see what you need to find out and then find out how to get there!
Can't promise but.... You looking for anything in particular?
Meanwhile, to give you a few pointers:
* Check 'Alerts' daily/as often as you can. (This is where you get the feedback re. any newbies you appoint. You may need to confirm territory you've applied for and/or check their first order limit.)
* It will always default to your own position - reps on your own team appear as 'big blobs' (put the cursor on the blob to get further details)
* Territory reps = purple
* F&F reps = green/turquoise
* New reps on your own team = 'Plus' signs i.e. until they're validated
* Worth checking out 'Layers' and 'Reports' (right-hand side above the map)Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Hi, does anyone know if there are any training guides on how to use the SL SMA mapping system?
There are quite a few guides to different parts of the SMA on our website. If you look under the training & development tab it will be listed under 'getting started'.
But MarsdenCuckoo is right just have a play and see how you get on, just a word of advice, you can be locked out for misuse - make sure you only allocate territory for someone who appears in your lead list. If they haven't completed the first part of the BAR form before you see them then you are not allowed to allocate territory beforehand either, it must be done on the call or up to 10pm on the night you appoint.
The reports and Activity planner I found more and more useful as I got further into sales leadership so don't worry if at first you look at them and think 'yes...and?'
Hope that helps,

Hi All,
Been spending the past week going through all your posts for the invaluable advice!! Have just put my first camp order in, total let down!! It was C13 and I dropped off to 94 houses all together, thankfully my SL gave me 40 brochures to get me going. Of those first 40, only 18 were left out for me! AFter dropping off reminders and door knocking, I got back a total of 31 and after 2 more rounds, I've been left with 25 brochures and only 1 order of £14.55!!!! Also, of the first 40, I forgot to make a note of which houses never returned them (duh!), so I guess I'll have to give them C14 again as well.
Am not going to be put off so easily, therefore, will be out at 5.30am tomorrow (before work) to start dropping off C13 to the houses I haven't yet got round to. I guess there's about another 200 houses and 6 blocks of flats. Do you think it's a good idea to leave a notice inside the flats on their noticeboards introducing myself, or would it be better to drop round brochures? Am just a bit concerned that I'll run out. It's hard for me to knock because I work long hours, and will be doing most of my avon early in the morning.
Any help much appreciated.
cheers
