Thanks - haven't yet seen any samples so didn't know how big they were.

Just to clarify - can she actually use the lipstick, then return if she doesn't like the colour?

Sorry if I'm being thick, but is so contrary to everybody elses returns policy :rotfl:

Yes, this is the beauty of avon. You can actually open and try the item and if you don't like it then there is a 90 day return policy. If you are uncomfortable with this then you can get samples but perhaps just dot a little on her hand.

I got some samples for a new customer who made her last full sized lippy last about 15 years! I didn't think and of course she didn't order a full sized one. Reckon the sample will last her about 3 years :D

I personally don't think Avon make enough out of this aspect of their customer service. You've hit upon an excellent advertising slogan there 'The beauty of Avon'. The majority of people I meet aren't aware of it, and I've even had infuriating customers who want to try something but aren't sure, I explain refund policy... They don't return it, and then MONTHS later say 'oh I didn't like that :mad::mad: Arrrrghhh! What more can you do!
Avon should be emphasisng this guarantee in their advertising campaigns. It makes a massive difference.
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

See your point but whilst Avon advertise the products and encourage reps to join, the returns aspect is actually down to each individual rep. I think that's probably why not a lot of customers know about it because a) Reps don't want to risk losing their commission on a sale already made and b) The 'higher echelon'/Area Managers don't encourage reps to return things. When I first joined I was told that it was much better to try and sell the product on to someone else if I couldn't manage to deliver goods rather than return things and, generally, to avoid returning goods 'at all costs'.

Of course, we're self-employed and how we run our own businesses - within Avon's T&C's of course - is up to us. I do let customers know about the returns policy as I'd much rather they tried something and maybe keep it rather than not order it at all.

Hi everyone hope you are all ok :j I'm so excited we are one of the 8 Nectar Rewards Savvy Families, I just heard today.
Would any of you be able to help think of a name for the blog I have to write over the next couple of months to be in with a chance of winning some prizes ?

All I have thought of is Cheltenhamgal's Canny Credit Crunches or Miss Savvy's guide to the Credit Crunch, hope less at stuff like this

I have to say feel really let down at the moment.

Had a phone call a few weeks ago from our SL (this was day our 2nd order was due to be submitted) she said could we place her order for her as she wasnt going to be as she was moving that day and it left her in a pickle. So I asked how much she said only £100 worth so I agreed.

Placed her order with ours and she collected on the day after our goods were delivered and said she would get us the money asap so we could pay of the invoice.

Been chasing her ever since no response to calls, emails, texts and facebook messages. Although she has been on facebook noting her status updates.

Now I took her at her word and even if she has been busy a bit of communication and courtsy can go a long way.

Im now faced with having to pay her part of the invoice out of our own money tomorrow as its last banking day and need to place our next order on monday!

Sometimes you try and help people out and it seems it just gets thrown back in your face!

Hello there everyone. I am now officially an avon rep :) I have read the first 20+ pages of this thread but it may take me a while to catch up. Thought i would pop in to say hello. I have got until 22nd to place my 1st order. I have 129 houses and 20 campaign 11 bks. Not sure how i will fit them all in in this short time, whilst still giving potential customers time to look. Any ideas?

That's appalling. Have you reported it to Avon? The debt, of course, will still be yours but they may be able to help in some way i.e. possibly deducting the amount from her SL commission? Really don't know but willing to try and help if I can. PM/email me with further details if you'd like me to at least explore the possibility. Data Protection Act will, no doubt, come into it but a SL doing something like this needs to be at least reported.

If you feel you have done everything you can to get in touch with her and she has failed to contact you to pay her part of the money I would if you have one contact your ASM as soon as possible, and also Avon itself, I have to say that is a really awful thing to happen to you, I really hope you can get it sorted, at the very least she owes you a huge apology and all of her commission from that order. The ASM should also probably punish her in some financial way for this behaviuor as it really is horrible for you to be so out of pocket.
Just because your paranoid does not mean they are not out to get you ! :rotfl:
