There's 18 campaigns in a year - all are 3 weeks, apart from two which run for 2 weeks. Usually works out at one in December, one in January but depends whereabouts in the country you are as we all have slightly different order & delivery dates.
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A

Hi all, not sure this is necessarily a question you can help with as it is indirectly related to Avon but would appreciate anyone else in the same position giving me some advice please.... thank you!

Regarding Tax Credit Claims - do you say that you are self employed and if so, what do you say about hours worked and income earned?

I haven't kept track of hours worked so I guess I ought to but I am only doing Avon part time really and as to income - since income will fluctuate it will be hard to say to hmrc that I earn a set amount.... so what to do then?

Would appreciate any feedback or ideas.... thanks :)

got a couple of extra streets today :D so will canvas them with the c6 brochures on saturday.

Just want to grumble about some of the sizes in the lingerie. Had a customer needing to return a Colette Summer Set and looked to see that it caters for 6/8, 10/12 and 14/16 - not big enough for my lady. Most of my customers are a little more generous, I mean how many size 6/8's do you know compared with 16+? (I'm a 10/12 BTW).

Order them and try them, nothing to lose as you can send them back. All my customers have found the white ones big even though they say 6/7. But not sure if any of them are an 8

They can't just expect you to re canvass on demand, you need to be told before ordering books. If you're really worried you could always drop old books with a note??

I think I will. I would prefer the black ones though I think! what camp were they in, I can't remember now!

I didn't think it was very fair. In the email it says as it is springtime it is time to recanvas, so it doesn't say what camp we have to do it in though!

I do have some old books but not enough to recanvas completely. I've had a tough few weeks at work so admit that I haven't worked as hard on my Avon as I could have done, though I did achieve well over HOV on my last two camps.

The black ones are in C7. The other benefit to this is that they are in later books and your customers will see you wearing them ;)
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

This was on the Avon website.... for

Internet and fast-trak Outage - Thursday 7th April

There will be an internet and fast-trak outage tomorrow, Thursday 7th April at 11pm for approximately two hours. The reason for the outage is to enable the team to conduct essential maintenance which we believe will provide a solution to the recent intermittent issues we have been experiencing. Please call the Representative line should you experience any further problems.

Tax credits - my husband and I applied for these (no children) about a month ago and it's just got sorted out. It was a little bit of a palaver - not terrible like other benefits have been - but basically the form asked us about 2009-2010, when my husband was working, and our income was too high to qualify for anything. There was nowhere to add about our current situation (which has been going on since April 2010). I rang and asked, and she said to ring in about 3 weeks to update them. So I rang but the claim was already processed and we'd got nothing. They updated it, I ignored the first letter, and we got another one just over a week later with everything adjusted to reflect how things are now. So it got sorted, it just didn't seem like the best way of doing things.

Earnings - they want to know your yearly figure so it doesn't matter that it fluctuates. I worked out what I'd earned from August-March (when we applied) and guessed what the last campaign's earnings would be before the end of the tax year. They allow you to guess if you're self-employed. If it's wrong you'll either be given more money, or end up owing them. My husband gave them the figure that he'd actually received from clients - not money he's owed since there's always a chance people won't pay up.

Hours - my husband and I both put the hours we're currently working, even if that's from several different types of work. OH is part-time and self-employed, for example.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

I'm not impressed with the sizes either. The only size 6/8 I know of is my daughter and she's 10 :rotfl::rotfl:

I've claimed as a self-employed "Independant Avon Representative" (also registered with the Tax man on account of NI contributions and so I can do tax returns etc as necessary) working approx 16+ hours a week. By the time you include preparing books, putting the books out, collecting them back in, re-preparing them, putting them back out again, collecting them again, processing the orders, dealing with emails, sorting out the order when it arrives, delivering the orders, accounts and paying the money into the bank etc it easily works out at an average of 16 hours a week depending on how big your territory is. I'm not quite maxing this out yet, but I've not canvassed most of my territory yet, keeping it at just 4 roads for the minute but then I walk my entire territory so it can take me a couple of hours to put the books out as you can only carry so many at a time.

As for income, I estimated that I earn about £20 a week in commission, so approximately £1,040 a year. Based on the past couple of campaigns I might have slightly underestimated this but I seriously doubt that I'll ever earn enough to loose benefits unless the government moves the goal posts again!
