I know this thread is for Avon reps but I can't find one for Avon customers and some kind soul may know the answer on here.

I placed my first order at avonshop.co.uk a few days ago. I do order through a rep as well but there were a few items in the sale section of the website that weren't in a brochure and I also had a code for a free watch which was specific to their online shop (Morgan watch?). So I placed my first order with them.

Anyhow the order all went through and I got an email saying the order has been sent and to click this link to track progress.

Anyhow I pressed the link and it took me to a UPS site where the parcel was down as "delivered" (today) at a totally different town about 100 miles away with a totally different surname. There is no mixing up names of the town or surname - they are completely different.

My question is are Avon more likely to make a mistake in giving the wrong tracking number......or are they more likely to send my parcel to the totally wrong address.......

I did ring the 0333 customer number but the call centre might be in India as the guy just kept repeating it takes 5 days to come even when I pointed out it was down as delivered.....

I know that Reps might have a different ordering system to the online customer but any advice would be appreciated :)

    Hi BargainMad

it sounds like they have given you the wrong tracking number. The call centre is in India, and unfortunately, they tend to follow a script, they do not seem to be encouraged to talk outside of the script or take ownership of calls.

contact Avon on uk.contact@avon.com by email and as Customer Service is based in the UK, you should get a proper answer. They will be able to check your order for you.
  • I really hope that is the case :)

I really want the items I ordered and they were all out of the sale section plus I had a code for a free Morgan watch which I had seen for £20 in a previous brochure but never as a "free gift" item. With this code I got it free for spending £20.

I kept the order secret from my rep as I didn't want her to think I had gone direct instead of through her. It was just a one off as I actually like ordering from my rep - love leafing through the brochure at work and then getting my things in the white bag!

I think this will be my first and last order via the Avonshop website but I couldn't give up Avon if I tried :)

Tracking numbers are sometimes re-used. I worked for a well known mobile phone company and used to see this a lot. It is worth checking in a day or two.
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

hi all, was thinking about asking for more streets because I have about 140 houses and out of those - just over 40 have either not returned the book/requested no book or I can't get access into them as they are flats with locking doors! it's a bit of a nightmare.

Would you ask for more streets? It is only the second time I have dropped books but more people today said they didn't want a book.

I've just been to drop some books of and I've had 3 people come out and give me the books back so those plus the people who said they didn't want a book in the first place I only have about 3 quarters of the street that want a book and only one person has ordered what a rubbish road

Sounds like one of mine! about half the houses in one road I can't get into and some don't want. :(

I made a table in Excel to show the stats for my streets. Half of these streets have been covered since August 2010, the rest since Feb 2011.

    Customers - 12%
    Avon from elsewhere - 6%
    Not ordered yet - 13%
Have told me not to drop any more books - 58%
    Empty - 3%
    Black-list (can't return a book) - 8%

Getting 3/4 of the street who want a book isn't bad at all. Judging by posts on here and Connects 10%-20% customers is normal and achieved by the hardest-working of reps, even though it doesn't sound great.

There's no harm in asking for more streets (explain why - no access, told you they're not interested), but some ASMs will want you to carry on with your current streets because there's a good chance you'll pick up more customers over time. I've got new customers on their 4th book, and also picked up some by re-canvassing people who couldn't return books before.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.
