An ex colleague of mine told me she gave up doing Avon because of returns. She returned items, paid her bill and then found she owed avon money, she got very upset and gave up.
This is what happens. Especially because of recharges. People who are not clearly explained how the credits system works and how to account for the money that should be credited to you account, and what happens if you don't return on time, etc, etc.
End up owing money and give up, as they are losing more money then they make.
Thanks, but surely if they ring Avon and quote the bar code no. then they'd be credited for their returns - yes/no? It's hardly rocket science surely. Or do some upliners really not even cover that when 'training' their sign-ups....
Know am heading for a fall here... just signed up a lovely lady but after spending 3 hrs  yesterday signing her up (+ 3 hour round trip :eek:) she's been on the phone to me multiple times today with queries about registering/logging onto her Avon a/c. (I did tell her just to concentrate on prepping her books and getting some orders in until Avon actually process her application.) When I asked how she'd got on with putting her books out today, she told me she hadn't bothered - because it had been raining...... I've been out all day (got soaked so many times I lost count) helping another rep (not even on my team) plus canvassing new area for another new team member, came home to faulty boiler/heating and a text message from another team member 'when are you going to drop that order in?'....
Went to an Avon meeting last week about Time Management; think am definitely doing something wrong at the mo.:rotfl:
My New Year Resolution starts tomorrow - 'Teach Them How' rather than 'Do It For Them' :T
Sorry peeps for the long post - rant over.... am off for a long soak in the bath and tomorrow is a new day!

she did it a few good years ago and no idea how the process was then, it may not have as easy as phoning with the barcode.
my friend did avon years ago and you had to pay avon all the money and they would send you your commission after they had calculated it, she said she gave up as they didn't send her her commission one month.
so not always black and white.
And..... MC! Start teaching these people how to run their own business! Not running it for them!0 -
MC, you are the lady in the know, can you find out how this affects F&F only reps:
just seen from my ASM
Please take note some very important information that will be taking effect in Campaign 9
Avon will be charging a delivery charge of £2.50 for all orders under £10. This will mean that you will no longer after Campaign 8 be able to just order a brochure !!!!
Hi, A, yes it was mentioned at the meeting I went to last week. Seems from C9 Avon have decided to levy a delivery charge for any orders under £10. But, as ever, it's just a matter of ordering to suit you i.e. order £11+ from HT and no charge. (Chances are that will click you into some sort of freebies anyway.)
Could be wrong, but reading between the lines my guess is that a lot of SLs (and maybe others higher up?) actually qualify for their team payments because they have signed up their OH and/or another friend/relative and place a 'token' order on their account (order forms, calling book - anything free - or even a single shower gel), which qualifies as 'an order' and helps them 'earn' their SL/team commission. Really can't see how lifting the order level to £10 is going to help Avon as, seems to me, it's as easy to send back £10 worth of goods as a single book.... but, hey, guess per your earlier post Avon may reckon that all these £10 (unreturned) orders will mount up and/or the hassle of returning goods will put people off having these 'ghost' accounts. from what I remember you didn't get earnings on a member of your team if they only ordered 1 item. They had to put in an order over a certain amount for you to qualify for a payment.... am I wrong?
I think it is more they realise how much they are paying the courier to send one mostly empty box to a reps house with a book and ht, an invoice and 1 item!0 -

Oh, interesting A.... had no idea.... Guess that explains why I am asked time and time again 'how do we get paid?'
And you are sooooo right.... I'll help anyone, any time but the text message tonight from my rep (where I found the new customer, dropped them a book, collected the order but offered it to my rep because they live nearer) really T'd me off. Definitely need to lead more and run less. :TMake the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Yes, SL's don't earn commission on orders under £30 but it does count as an order i.e. you need 5 orders + your own targets and £888 worth of group sales to qualify for your SL commission.
As for the courier costs, you could be right but if they're happy to use Royal Mail for immediate replacements re. small items, you'd think that would also apply for an order for a calling book/order forms etc. - yes/no?Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Didn't know they used to send out commission cheques. Probably worth remembering that the Avon guarantee used to be 'forever' rather than the 90 days it is now. Reckon we'd all have smaller 'treasure chests' were that still the casePlease do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

you would think.... huh..... funny how I ended up with a box delivered by the courier with said items....0 -
Money Maker - I know it's risk-free but I feel a bit responsible now...
I'm presuming you've got a lot more experience than me, though. Have you had success with MMs in the past? I'm going to do the reduced price as well. Going to do a newsletter for the first time to highlight it.
One of the reasons I wanted to give it a go is because I'm prepared to try every incentive for at least one campaign to see if my area goes for it. So the MM and newsletter are new things to try this time. Also, I sold 3 Solutions vibrating roll-on things without doing anything to promote them (it might have been the back-cover coverage that helped sell those). Wished I'd gone for the MM that time...
The "Love" fragrance from the range is a bit sharper than the others. That's just going off the scented page - I liked Slip Into but not once I tried a sample.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Maybe they have a bulk agreement with the courier ie X number of reps on Z route and a set cost instead of individual calculation? I suppose it makes little difference to the courier unless you are in a rural area??? Just a thought! The admin would take forever otherwise between numbers of boxes etc etc.Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???0
