  • Hi everyone, like i said ages ago for my C3 brochure, thank god for family (bumping my order up) and i have to say the same again for C4!! i swear f&f make doing avon worth it for me!!

I'm waiting for my delivery on friday for all the rest of my C5 books so i can get them out so with the 1 book avon sent me i'm trying to get it round f&f so that then i have their orders in and only have to worry about my territory, my friend was round yesterday helping us re decorate so on our breaks she was looking through that and has ordered £40 worth, my mum and nan are round today to help redecorate lol so im going to show them it too and get it out to everyone else so hopefully by monday all my f&f will have seen it.

im also thinking with C5 to have an order £X amount and recieve a free gift, really want to get my orders up with my old territory, just about to email SL new address for more streets closer to me (ive found out that i can keep my old streets to we havnt moved to far so yay)
    - any free gift ideas would be great! thanks x
  • I still have another weekish before i have to put C4 in, its not looking too bad, I've had better but i do still have streets left to recanvass. But im not toooo hopefull tbh. Had a thorough chat with my other half last night, after getting a bit emotion about our financial situation, at the end of the day He has the easy job, he's not the one that has to sit down and try and make the figures work out, he's not the one thats gotta try and live off what little money we have and still pay off bills. We have come to the conclusion now I do need to go back to work. The hard thing is though that HE is reluctant to let anyone else "strangers" look after our son, so that means no nurserys and no child minders. So unless his mum does take the bait and offers to look after him for me to get day time hours, then he said id have to do evening work. Not something im really relishing but needs must, Id much rather his mum look after our little one, him playing with his cousin will be good for him. But to some extent I do feel torn :(
  • i know how that feels!! my OH doesnt want me to get a day job for the same reason he doesnt want anyone looking after our daughter, only he wont let me get an evening job either because he doesnt like the idea of me having to get home when its dark (neither of us drive) so thats why i started avon only tbh i earn about £25 each campaign from it so now hes moaning that even doing avon isnt worth it, so im hoping getting a larger area and doing all the ideas that come off here will help improve my orders and how much im making from it.

Waiting around for C5s to turn up... They couldn't be delivered with my order on 31st Jan and said it would be 1-2 days. It got to a week so I had to track down the number for them and find out where they are. Should be tomorrow or Thursday. Thursday is very latest they could get here for me to have enough time to prep them and get them out to regulars for collection on Sunday. Person I spoke to was very nice and helpful but it's been a bit of a stress wondering whether they'll get here in time.

New streets are really dire. I didn't expect orders at this time of year but so many are saying they don't want any more. Plus I'm having battles with most of the gates on one street. At one point I had to climb over from their neighbour's side.

Got a new potential customer from an old street - is friends with an existing customer and can't get their Avon from work anymore.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Hi everyone I did Avon ages ago and it wasn't that successfull for me but I'm thinking of giving it another go and trying my absolute best so I'll prob be here seeking tips before long so I popped on to say hi first

Hi Laura and welcome to the thread!

The knack is to find yourself a decent SL to sign up with i.e. rather than just apply via Avon's website (your enquiry then goes to your ASM and they choose which team to put you on or sign you up themselves..... Sometimes this can work against your own personal interests - not always, of course, but I've come across enough reps now, who are unhappy with their upline team, to realise that does happen too often!)

There's another thread on here (will post this then add a link), which may help you find someone you 'gel' with and if they live near you then all the better. The latter is not, however, totally necessary because a lot of SL's travel far and wide.

Good luck with your new Avon business.

That thread includes a Poll for everyone to 'vote' and comment where they are based in the UK. Was set up a while ago so if we've got some new followers, who haven't yet 'voted', please feel free to do so.... All helps us build up a picture of where we are and makes it easier sometimes to help each other.

    Hi Ellie,

Don't you order your books two campaigns ahead i.e. so you can have your next books already prepped when your Avon delivery arrives? Each to their own of course, but I find it helps me to have the customer orders already piled up with the next customer book and any notes, offers, free gifts, etc. rather than have to start and prep books at the same time as bagging up my customer orders. (It also helps if you've got a customer you want to hide a better deal from in the next book :o Yes, am evil on occasions - but not often.... It's my little way of getting my own back if they've been a nuisance i.e. not in, not had their monies ready or just nonchalantly told me to come back later.... :rotfl:)

As for suggestions for freebies, choose anything from your back campaign @ 99p i.e. nett to you at 74p/80p (depending on HOV/MOV) or if I've got your current camp right (and the shampoos are popular with your customers) you might even want to try ordering the AT Demo products from HT6 - the volume package (4 items for £3.50 nett - approx. 87p each, is a great deal)

    Good luck.

Oh dear, CJD, really feel for you. Seems many moons ago now but I had a similar situation to deal with - my OH at the time (no longer thank goodness) even worked shifts but refused to look after our child on his 'days off' when they were during the week as he reckoned he shouldn't have to! Luckily, my Mum and MiL helped out and I had an understanding boss - on some days I'd even take my child to work with me even though my OH was at home 'relaxing'! Incredible now to believe.

Aesop has some great ideas to earn a bit extra by doing surveys, etc.; hopefully she'll come across with some good suggestions for you. Don't suppose childminding might be an option for you i.e. you could then earn extra but stay at home with your little one? Can't think of anything else at the mo other than, hopefully, you can make your OH see sense and take over his fair share of the responsibility for looking after ALL his family i.e. that includes you too....

    Good luck!

Cheeky blighter, whose child did he think it was

I have always been at home with my little ones although before I had DD (now nearly 3) I was working 6 different jobs which worked around school hours.

I am a community carer a couple of evenings a week, good flexible work if you have transport and always plenty of vacancies. Been doing this for nearly 12 years, some days it can be more of an 'escape' than work.

Fortunately DH lets me get on with it and doesn't moan too much about
    Piles of avon boxes everywhere
    Brochures spread everywhere
Reports I have to do for my other jobs
Stuff I have lurking around for ebaying
My 'just got to pop out to one of my avon customers'

He really has no idea of how much money goes into the joint account from my earnings but understands my need to earn.

Hi everyone I haven't posted for a while but do try to keep up with the thread - anyway I have just lost my SL who i would normally bounce ideas off so thaught i would see what you guys think.

I was considering putting a voucher out to all of my territory (540 houses) instead of using brochures as i find it hard to pack 500 + brochures.

I was going to do something like:

Avon Team Decadence are covering your area

    10% off Brochure 8

Text your name, house number and street to 07900........ or call 07900........ to receive a brochure and redeem this voucher

    What do you think?

I think it is a good idea. I have dne something similar, but for referring a friend. I have also had fliers printed rather than using up brochures I may not get back. Professional ones work out at less than a penny each, and I figured it was worth the outlay compared to paying for books. Depends how committed you are as to what works for you really. May be offer an email address and tell them you can send an eco-friendly brochure via email if they prefer, that cuts costs and some of my customers prefer it. Possibly to browse sneakily at work!!!
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???
