For those of us who end up with nothing I think we should write en masse to The Independent and ask them to reveal exactly how many of these DVDs were actually available in this promotion. If it really was only 100 of each that's nowhere near enough, and would definitely be an issue for the ASA...

The only one I could order was a very long engagement - out of stock but presumably I'll get it when it comes in stock. Anyway, a free DVD is a free DVD despite how rubbish Play's organisational skills are! Smile all!

purely because they should not have sent me a code if they havnt got the dvd's avalible to complete the offer.

Oh that's a bit harsh. I applied early, I DO buy the Independent, and juse because Play cannot send out codes properly we miss out!?

Not happy now I know I'm getting diddly squat! Is there any way we can complain!?

Got my DVD's ordered and have received email confirmations. I ordered them the minute the email arrived. The first time I went on the site there was a big selection but the second time there was only 'A Long Engagement' left. It seems that it was first come first served but yes I agree, they shouldn't have sent aout more codes than they had DVDs.

Unfortunately, I think they've covered themselves this time - No. 8 in the terms:

8. The DVD choice may change throughout the promotion and are available
on a while stocks last basis. In the event of excess demand for any
given title you may be required to select an alternative DVD.

I do worry that even those who got an order in after the DVDs went out of stock may still lose out if they stick to that.

This is really disappointing. I've only just logged in having been out for the afternoon. The email came through at 3.28pm, I try to use it just 2 hours later to find there's zilch! I have ordered A Very Long Engagement as it is still showing but also states out of stock so unlikely to be fulfilled.

What a bummer and a sham! Boooo.
