  • Just thought I'd let folks on here know about my recent issue with Vodafone, looking for a bit of advice re cancelling my contract.

Had a 12 month contract with Vodafone with an iPhone 6 that I started in December 2014, had absolutely no problems during the term of this contract. I upgraded to an iPhone 6s on a 24 month contract, got a decent deal that meant my first month's bill would be "a couple of pounds only" due to credits being added to my account. After a couple of weeks on the new contract I received an email saying my bill for the month was £152.47, I called to query this on Monday 14th December and was told that the credits made to my account had been charged to me instead of discounted- the operator told me that the bill would be recalculated and sorted out before Vodafone would attempt to take the direct debit. I then received a text message saying that a credit of £169.34 would be added to my account, so I thought that was the end of it. On 23rd December 152.34 was taken from my account- This payment being taken from my account left me overdrawn, and I had planned to do some Christmas shopping on the 23rd. I called Vodafone at 8:00 am to query the bill and explained the situation with being left overdrawn, I also asked for the £169.34 to be paid into my account via a BACS payment so I could still do my Christmas shopping on this day- I was told this was not possible. I asked to speak to a manager to escalate my complaint, the operator said I would receive a call from a manager within 1-3 hours, a week later still no phone call! I received an email from Vodafone saying they would recalculate the bill and get back to me within 7 DAYS. So I sent an email to Vodafone via the WRT-135 code I got on here, after no reply by Monday 28th I sent a further email asking for my contract to be cancelled. I got a reply yesterday (Tue 29/12) from a guy called Lee asking me to fill out an online form so he could access my information, which I did. I then received another email with a separate code (#12259174) saying they would get back to me within 48 hours- I find this completely unacceptable, I emailed them back quoting the original reference number I was given.

So basically I've been left overdrawn for 5 days over Christmas, unable to buy the last few gifts for my wife and 8 year old daughter due to total incompetence from Vodafone.

Does anyone on here know if I have a case to cancel my contract due to the disgraceful customer service I've received? Any advice on information would be greatly appreciated.
  • Disgraceful customer "service" is the norm - why should you expect anything better?

Contact the Web Relations Team as all people who ever get anywhere with this lot have to do. It's all on here - repeatedly.
  • I know I should have listened to people on here.

I recently bought a Vodafone SIM only for my daughter....unlimited mins and texts and a certain amount of data....came with 60 quid quidco cash back so it was a good deal.

Anyways, as she's a teenager and spends shed loads of time on phone and texting her friends etc, I wasn't bothered as it was unlimited texts and mins.

However first bill comes in and it's nearly 200 pounds !!!! It appears Vodafone haven't applied the said bundle to the account.....so they want me to pay the 200 pounds and get it back next month.

Not want I want to do really

SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • I must express my total anger at the unprofessional and insensitive treatment I have been subjected to by this joke of a company. In October my mother in law went into hospital and I bought her a pay as you go mobile from Vodafone. Sadly within two weeks she passed away. I returned the phone to them as it was unused on the 23rd october via the proof of purchase option with the post office. Since then I have been tortured by their apathy and lies when trying to get a refund for this phone which is happening at a sensitive and emotional time. I have made over 20 calls to them to try to achieve this but have been fobbed off and lied to on every occasion. You can never speak to the person who lied to you last time and have to start all over again EVERY TIME. I'm continually told a refund will be made in 7-10 working days and the refund team will phone back but they never have. In my total frustration I managed to get the email address of the chief exec Jeroen Hoencamp and have sent him three messages at various stages of nothing happening. He has replied to say I will be contacted and the problem resolved but, yes, you've guessed it, no one has ever rung me. If my chief exec asked me to do something three times and I didn't do it I would expect to be sacked unless he was so ineffective his staff can safely ignore his instructions (yes Jeroen - take that as a challenge to actually do something) The phone was returned in its original packaging within the time limits prescribed (vodafone acknowledge receipt on 25th october) by the sale of goods act so Vodafone are simple ignoring the law. I will be contacting the ombudsman after the holiday and if that doesn't shake them out of their inaction I will have to pursue them through the small claims court as their refusal to refund me is inexcusable. Learn from my experience and NEVER deal with this horrible, horrible company.

    Dear Lee

Id be grateful if you could acknowledge receipt of my most recent correspondence and let me know what Vodaphone can do .

So, after speaking to them on 4 different occasions I was assured that the account was now correct and the bill generated of £202.86 was incorrect and I would be billed £18 as I should be.

Ok, guess how much my account was debited with this morning
