I think A line is good, you'll feel smart but not too 'wiggle-y' as in a pencil skirt.

I have a spend to confess to ... £1.75 on an ebay dress. No idea if it will fit or look good, but dresses are my thing this year & £1.75 is a bargain. I was outbid on a cardi - had to not look while it was in the final minutes of the auction as I get soooo competitive :o. I have a bid on another one too & have released all the items that were trapped in my virtual basket.

I long to wear jeans again - life was so easy then ;)
  • Hi everyone
    Today I spent £72 on 5 pair of Size 10 jeans!! :D:D
I have never been a size 10 in my adult life - until now! I got to goal at WeightWatchers last week and have been between sizes for several weeks I thought I would just go try some jeans on in Matalan today and the 10's were so comfy and not falling down on me. I bought 2 pair for weekend and general wear, the other 3 pair are for work :j
I hope you are all having a good weekend

Oh dear - I think i've just had a bit of a lightbulb moment. I was putting my clean clothes away tonight and ive realised how squashed my clothes are! That must be causing them so much damage :( I have two huge closety style wardrobes with shelves and the shelves are at the rafters and my free standing wardrobe is just so full there wasnt even room for a teeshirt without squashing it in.

I just wish I wasnt so damn lazy to get some ebaying done! Or - annoyingly I wish that when a charity bag came round that it would be with us for more than about 3 days before it has to be outside as they always arrive when its just so inconvienient for me to dig stuff out :(

    *Shdder at the waste*

Cos those pink satin shoes and matching clutch bag was soo essential - and that love heart clutch bag that is so inpractical because I am mary poppins when I go everywhere, yep really needed that one!

A £18 spend to declare. I got 2 tops and a cardigan for my daughter yesterday at Debenhams. She did need the cardigan but the tops were a bargin!! Still only spent £21 out of our £300 budget so I am pleased. I did get a dress for a press conference next week at work but I used money I already had in my ebay account so not classing that as a spend is that ok?

  • I'm in two minds... I tried on a size 10 maxi dress at Monsoon - marked down to £19 (70% off) - I am a size 12 and carrying a few extra pounds at present. The lady in the change room did not think it was too small for me but on reflection I am not comfortable... so - do I declare it as a spend and keep the dress or should I return it and chill out... after doing a load of ironing I now have a very full wardrobe and I am erring on the side of returning the dress!
Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

  • hi everyone,

spent £40 yesterday. On a pair of jeans from Matalan which were £10 but I had a 20% off voucher so they were only £8. I also bought a beautiful smart dress for £25 (so £20 after the 20% off)

I also found a lovely black long line cardi-type thing from Oasis in the sale. It was marked down to £20 but I got to the till and it went through at £12! :j I know I will wear it loads so am thrilled about this.

I was going to wait on the jeans until I am back to goal weight but it's not going to happen very quickly and when I find jeans that fit, I buy them as it's not a regular occurrence.

So this now means I can make more use of what I do have - I have lots of tops for work that need jeans and haven't worn them in ages.

The dress doesn't go with anything else, but it is gorgeous and I felt amazing in it. It will do for work or for posh nights out - in fact I am off to my first ever local film society night on Wednesday so I may try out a new glamorous me as they won't know what I normally look like!

Now the next target is shoes that are funky but not sky high.

Oh and I have also seen a lovely black skirt in Dorothy Perkins which will go with everything. It's £28 so I am on a hunt for a voucher.

hey little H - u dont need a voucher, just buy online at dorothy perkins website, theres a 20% off at the moment :) limited time only though and u do have to spend £75+ to get free PP, do what I do though top the order up to £75 with stuff thats a completely wrong size so ur not tempted to keep :)
  • thanks - just been over there and noticed that! But....found some other bits that I like too! Including a fake fur/ feather gilet which will help a couple of other things work harder too. oh dear!

I know, I went on there to get my sisters birthday pressie - and thought the scarf works out at £4 id be damned to spend £4 on postage, so i've ordered some other bits too - not going to declare anything yet, but a sherling jacket (£12.. down from £49) was on my list of 'would likes' and has accidentally fell into the basket :( got this damn virus. Other stuff I have every intention of returning, purposely brought things I wouldn't wear just to make it less tempting :) In the past id have topped it up with stuff i loved instead!

On another note though - I planned on going to the city shopping today. but decided against it :D I'd have spent £5 on bus and at least £10 on food and drinks - so I suppose a not too bad day really!!

But hey oh - total remains at £36 - but may change :( - Potentially by Friday itll be a huge £60 :(
