How annoying about the shoes :(

Well done for taking the NQR coat back :T

That's another lesson I've finally learned; if its not absolutely perfect then I just wont wear or use it so I may as well not buy it.

I think that's one of the main ways that I've actually managed to cull my wardrobe & reduce my spending. I am far more discerning than I used to be.

After 2 years of doing this challenge, I dont actually have many 'freedom' items other than those which dont fit, yet. I do still have ridiculous shoes that will only get worn should I start attending cocktail parties or weddings ... but that is an entirely different matter :p

Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!

Good Evening all - happy saturday :)

Did everybody have a lovely CHEAP day today? Anybody been naughty in the shops? come on girlies (and boys if there is any, do men ever have this 'clothes-shoppaholic' thing?) declare... declare... declare.

I have not spent a penny on clothes today - so ... total spends still £36. Decided I might give three pairs of socks I brought in error last week away as part of my sisters birthday pressie, so therefore this will take me down to £32... yipeeee. I'll keep updated on that one though!!!

I'm not sure I wrote about my dilema with the dorothy perkins dress and the newlook dress I brought last week. Just in case I didn't - I brought a nice black dress last weekend, but i've seen one I think I might prefer on dorothy perkins website. So... because I recieved a email from DorothyPerkins offering 20% discount online only I brought this one to try on and see which I prefer as the DP one is a little bit more wearable at different times looking.

I will however ONLY keep one dress. I don't need two in this style, as its a fashion style with a expiry date.

I may however, when it comes have a £10 spend to declare, because a skirt fell into my basket :( -- Why do clothes have this habbit? Do you think i've got a computer virus that effects all the clothes sites? Oh dear oh dear!!!

However, I will only have this spend to declare if I decide to go dorothy perkins dress rather than newlook.. otherwise, it'll be a £22 spend to declare, and I just can't afford to declare that :(

I think I am doing pretty well in general though

I know your probably thinking... Oh come on you've spent £36 on clothes in two weeks!! HOWEVER for me this is an improvement. I have two weeks left and £54 (£44/£48 dependent on above factors) left so woohoo go me :)

Also.. I know this isn't the place to write this - but I set myself my other challange.. the food challange... £62.70 left on that one... woohoo.

I can't quite remember what I started with for my work budget but I think I started with £60 - to cover all food, and travel (£35ish pm) I still have £40 and a few pence left :)

So all in all.. i've done ok.....

Or am I just trying to justify my spends this month lol :)

Anyway enjoy your evening girlies - whose watching take me out tonight? Did you see that blokes dreads last week? God I hate dreads!!!

I've not no more spends to report - in fact I donated 3 more items to the charity shop today, I was ill last week and I'm behind with the ironing so my wardrobe mainly housed the bits I don't tend to wear much and so I went through and got rid of a few bits I picked out, looked at and said no I don't want to wear this anymore. So a bit more space in my wardrobe and hopefully some pennies for a charity.

I'm afraid I have not had a cheap day *hangs head* although in my defense I have planned the spend so it is not too bad: I bought a pair of Monkee Genes skinny jeans in a olive colour, which I have been thinking about fr a while. They are fairtrade and organic cotton so they sit easy with my conscience, and they fit really well so they sit easy on me too :rotfl:And as I wear my other pair of skinnys 3 days of the week they will be a well used purchase.

So the damage? £47 I'm afraid, so I'm alsmost half way through my budget already  I'm a little bit irritated though, because I could have had 2 pairs for that price from the ASOS sale but wasn't quick enough off the mark to get the colours/sizes I wanted  so had to conclude a full price pair which are right are better than a half price pair which aren't quite what I wanted.

I don't watch take me out Gladys, but last week my parents introduced me to a Danish crime thriller on BBC4 so will be watching that.

I was good today and picked a reduced skirt up in M+S and then decided I was only going to buy it because it was reduced to £15 from £35 and I wouldn't have looked at it otherwise. I walked around with it for a while and then looked in the mirror at it and decided to put it back as it reminded me of how I was before when I used to buy things in the sale purely because they were in the sale

Meaning £15 still in thr budget for something I really want and no clothing spends to report!

Lots of people wear skirts with flats - just be careful with the skirt length to avoid looking frumpy ;)

So what sort of skirts should I be aiming for? i'm not comfortable in calf length stuff at the best of times, for work I think the shortest I'd get away with is a few inches above the knees but I'd have no idea what sort of style to go for either. Pencil? A-Line? I'm so confused! lol
  • Yesterday I wore a Pair of boots that (due to my rugby type Calves!!) I dont normally consider - they sit with Cornflake packets rolled up as impromptu Boot supports in the back of the cupboard! - I got luvly comments all day! The new Fly London boots are still in the "breaking in" stage.... they are really lovely too, great soft leather - but man! - they make em on the neat side! - have had quite a good freedom week tbh - its been a revelation!!! - even the semi face lift on Monday with the bobble :D xx (oh and no spends today- took my DD to a community Pottery thing an we spent some "us" time - was great fun!!!)

I think for work a lovely A line skirt suits most shapes - I do like pencil skirts, but they roll up on me :( I am currently on the look out for a really nice reasonably priced A line if you find one let us know hehe :)

Lol I better not get the blame for overspends on the clothes budgets if I start posting skirt recommendations!
