    I think this is an excellent Challenge. Count me in, I'm willing to try anything. I don't think I spend a lot on clothes but put me all in for £400 (Will I get a shock at the end of the year??)

    Hello, after failing miserably (and very early on!) in this for the last two years, can i please try again?! Haven't worked out a budget yet but will be doing one for all of us, hubby and three boys, need to work in school uniforms, one sweater alone is eight pounds!
    Also i know i can't manage on a hundred pounds lol, i spent ridiculous amount on clothes last year but my excuse is i dropped two dress sizes and am hoping to lose a bit more but still have lots of my clothes to ebay so could use that money towards it. Have to admit i did just have my last shop on bhs online of 2010 so am well stocked up now!
    Will work out my sums tomorrow and post our amounts, happy new year.x

    Thanks Lula-Hula! Have worked out my amounts now, i know it sounds alot but i usually spend way more on clothes, too ashamed to say how much! Apologies tho as my computer won't let me do the pound sign since it came back from the menders so it gets annoying!
    I may adjust it slightly but am working on these amounts as i know i couldn't stick to a hundred and i am in awe of all of you that achieve this or near it, ds is mainly in his uniform plus his dad always buys him clothes, shoes etc for xmas and birthdays! Ds1 will probably need next size items nxt summer though i will try and make his clothes last longer as he is skinny round the waist so that helps! Ds2 will need new school jumpers and ds3 will just need vests, socks etc - i am actually shocked at how much stuff he had, counted 30 hand knitted jumpers and over 20 shop bought ones in his wardrobe alone!!!
    Just a quick question do i include their shoes in this as if we do i may have to raise the amounts for the boys, they usually get new school shoes and a pair of trainers twice a year, usually costs a hundred pounds a time eek! Hope you all have a lovely day x
    PS - Sorry just reread your first post ( i am a bit tired this morning and brain not in gear!) so will include shoes and everything for me and hubbs but not the boys i think, so will do everything for them except shoes. Luckily for me my weakness is not for shoes but for coats for some bizarre reason, can't resist them?!
    I admit i have ordered a few bits for myself and boys from m&s, asda and bhs so i really don't need to buy anything more, unless i do manage to lose the last 6 lbs!!

  • Hello,
    Please can I join too? I spent a ridiculous amount on clothes in the last year or two (I don't have a clue how much but I know it was terrible). I have loads of things I've never worn and I probably should ebay them. I really need to rein in my spending this year and get my clothes buying under control. Please can you put me down for £400 for the year?

    Hi everyone! Think I need to join this challenge! I'm going to pledge £240 for the year for everything, excluding shoes. That's only because I have such difficulty finding shoes that fit so when I do, I don't really care about the cost (within reason!)
    Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £
    LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000

    Please may I join? my total is £600. I have been very inspired by Buffy and am aiming to lose 100lbs this year so my clothes buying will be driven by weight loss and need.

    TKMaxx is my downfall as they often have great fat womens' clothing at bargainous prices. I am currently sewing some work dreses using fabric from my stash so effectively they are free, if that works it should help with keeping the total under control.

    Obviously the killer will be shoes as I am reliably told that major weight loss means your feet get smaller.............Oh what joy, something other than Birkenstocks for the summer!

    Tootallulah, I have to also admit that I am a TK addict. I love a good rummage and a bargain and get the majority of my wardrobe from there. I do tend to get a bit carried away though (its a good 30 miles away) so thankfully I'm not there very often. Anyway, sticking to my pledge and I also have a few (ahem loads!!:o) of pounds to shift, and once I manage that, I should be able to wear the clothes that I already have but haven't worn yet.
