Another £8.99 to declare on some leggings from H$M and a little bag from Primarni...

Takes me up to £113.39 I believe.

Errrr yep, I'm still shopping too :o

No cheap navy cotton/wooly tights to be found anywhere, so ended up having to buy them in M&S for £8 . I need them to go with the lovely ebay frock I won for £3.99 :o. I also bought a new pair of cosy slippers for just £1.90 ( I have to have slippers when I get out of the bath, uncool or not :p).

DD has a really lovely little skirt from M&s for £18 & some tights to go with at £3. I also bought her some new Converse hi-tops but they're for crimbo so don't really count :D.

My total now at £865.90 :o but I have a plan for next year; as of the end of this month I'm putting £50 a month into a separate account for all mine & DDs needs for everything wearable; clothes, shoes, accessories. I'm hoping to have money left at the end of 2012.

New clothes challenge thread will be starting up soon & I'll put a link up when it's ready :)

    Thanks Lula darlin'!

I will be joining the new thread and thinking hard about next years budget - maybe stay the same as this year

Thank you so much for opening this thread again as it has been more helpful than ever to me this year in freeing up some clothes from my wardrobe on Freedom Days, thinking hard about whether I need it or not and also downbranding on some clothes and realising they are good too!

  • I have a sort of interim confession to make as a rather marvellous pair of £40 purple knee boots accompanied me home from TK Maxx today :j. They're a bit small, but might well be fine when worn in a little and I like them better than the Jones ones I was looking at for three times the price. I think I'll be wearing them around the house for a couple of hours to see how we get along but there is a fair chance they'll end up staying :rotfl:

Will be trying to stay out of the shops til Jan after that as am horrified to find that my spreadsheet says I've spent £985 this year :o . So that's about £82/month . What's worse, £325 of that total has been worn once/ twice/ not yet . 2012 definitely has to be about only buying things I LOVE and WEAR.

Im enjoying my last few days of blissful 'guilt' free shopping - then ill be back in 2012 :)

itll have to be a huge target though lol.
  • So how many have "hit" the sales or did anyone give them a miss this year?

I did get some money from family for Xmas and I was going to buy myself some new boots but unfortunately both the TV and washing machine have died on me so it looks like that money will be going to repair at least the washing machine.

Anyway I did though recieive some fab clothes too from close family - a lovely little cream Nxt top, a black/grey marl mohair v neck jumper, pair of navy & white pin stripe palazzo pants by fat face - all from charity shops total cost £5.509they left the labels on to prove it ! aww at least they are learning) and the great thing is I don't have to declare it either as part of my CCC.

But the best item was something I bought myself using £10 of the said Xmas money - a pair of original Versace black couture jeans costing me £4.99 plus £2.99 P&P - yes they original,2nd hand but in excellent condition and if it was anyone on this board that was selling them am really sorry I did put a silly specutative bid not expecting to be succesful but no one else did bid so I won!:T

They will be looked after I promise and again I don't have to declare as they money was a gift( I showed them to the person who gave me the money, last night and she was both gobsmacked and over the moon!)The thing is she has her own little clothes boutique in town (for the older larger size lady, not my kind of thing)and she was saying how the internet is killing many small clothes business but as she offers the old kind of fitting & alteration service too,as in "are you being served?",she is just about keeping her head above water.

Anyway please pray tell what lovely bargains you all have purchased??While I sit here and work out if it's cheaper to get a new washing machine or get my broken one repaired (not usual fault- small leak inside has totally wrecked the electronic board! And I can't find the leak as it will no longer turn on)plus its out of guarentee:mad:

I've stayed away from the sales so far for clothes. I might see if I can get a couple of skirts though to wear or a day dress. I did however oder 3 pairs of new boots from Clarks which were 60% and 50% reduced and came in at just over £100 for all 3 pairs including a pair of knee length boots. Anyway might not keep them all as need to see if they fit first when they are delivered to the store. Hoping the knee length ones fit as I really like them!

I got 2 pairs of pjs for Christmas which is good and 2 nice jumpers - a long teal tunic style to wear with skinny jeans and a more fitted heather jumper to wear with skirts and jeans. Both are lovely but I haven't tried them on yet.
