  • OMG! Just realised the money in my bank account has to last me now until next year! Ouch! So will probably not be buying any more clothes until then. Hoping to get outbid on a bag and dress on eBay now and fully expect that I will be. December is a very expensive month for me and not just with Christmas (holiday and two weekends away) so I'll be pulling my belt (black, patent) very tight.

Will tally up 2011 total and let you know.

Eeek... I have a confession even though I didn't officially join the challenge this year I think I should in 2012. I seem to have 'accidentally' ordered a long knit fairisle jumper :o However, there was a 40% off sale and free shipping, well to my friend in the US, I have to pay for her to ship it to me. Yes, several of my fav stores are US based and she's awfully good at being obliging in taking my deliveries and shipping them on. :A However, jumper with discount was about £28 so can't sniff at that. Just hope it fits

I was quite surprised to see I hadn't gone over budget for this year - not so far anyway!

I wore a Freedom outfit to work last week and raised an eyebrow or 2 for being smart! It was a pair of Joesph brown cord trousers I used to love and haven't worn for more years that I care to remember. On the downside they were a little baggy on the legs now - they used to be second skin tight! Anyway I'm going to carry on wearing them, with a different top though I think the cream power dressing shirt with puffed shoulders was a bit too much. On the brightside I haven't worn this shirt for 18mths.

I've written down my full Christmas work do outfit to make sure its a Freedom outfit and stick to my plan of not buying anything for it. I've tried it on and all ok so far. Little swollen tum showing through the dress, will have to make sure I don't eat too much on that day! Pleased I've slimmed into it as this was my plan - to wear it for this night out and not buy anything new.

I also decided to Freedom up some of my make up too and I'm going for a silver grey mineral shadow and one with a hint of green and a black sparkly eyeliner.

I did splash out £1 on a new nail varnish in greige - decided against a high cost brand one and went for MUA from Superdrug and pretty good it is too. I got sick of the expensive ones chipping even with topcoat on. Let's see how it lasts today!

If I can do it anyone can do it - I know you can!

Well you all put me to shame,

I have clearly gone over my budget although do remember it's not just mine !

On the other hand, I do have one more ebay frock to declare so am far from reformed yet. This is a simple asos dress that can be dressed up or down & for £6.50 I'm all over it, have plenty to go with it so all good, I feel no guilt.

I've had a few manic bidding sessions & also won items that I kinda wished I hadn't, sadly the loss of my original spreadsheet means I'll never know the full cost ( small mercies eh ;)) of those bids but I'll definitely be setting up a new one from January where I log the cost & how often I wear the item. The dresses & shoes I've bought have all been blinding successes, although I really don't need any more shoes next year.

I'm wearing my boots daily with a view that I simply cannot justify a new pair until I've thoroughly used up the ones I have. I've decided that the £2 coins pot will go towards new ones next year - already have £40 in it :D

No official work do for us this year :( but if we have an unofficial one, I have at least 4 entire outfits I can wear - the plus side to having phenomenal cosmic wardrobe & itty bitty social life !

:o where is the 'ears burning' smilie please?

I have to add £27 on jersey pj's from Debenhams. They were 30% off and one of the few things I did need for winter this year - I had to chuck out a couple of sets that were just too worn.

We only have a lunch work do and I'm not going - it's expensive and I'd rather have a meal with my friends instead. If I did need an outfit, I'd have plenty to choose from so Must Stop Buying Party Dresses :wall:.

    Anyone buying anything in Dec?

Well I did yesterday - I bought a red layered shift dress in an orange/red tone in a SIZE 10! I haven't been this size since 1997! Don't think I'll fit into every size 10 but it does fit, so this and it being half price I bought it!

£11 from Matal*n as part of their half price partywear offer, had some nice skirts too which were half price too but resisted these.

Update total time £217/£250 - £33 left until 31 Dec

  • Bought a pair of earrings today but £16 was probably a lucky escape from an art gallery shop, they had so much fab stuff!
