I have some spends to confess - bought a lovely flowery top and a much needed new pair of jeans (all others are a bit tight, ahem:o) in the Dotty P's sale. Both came to £30 and had a gift card for that exact amount - whoop, free clothes!

Had a potter in the charity shops at the weekend and bought a Zara jacket for £4.75, an Asos dress for £5.75 and a really fun dress/tunic thing with a big peacock print on it for £3.75 so total spends = 14.25.

    Will update sig shortly!

And another clearout, in the form of a further 8 dresses, a hoody, some tops, skirts and a cardigan earmarked for eBay...I always end up wearing jeans and a plain T shirt anyway so I think I'll be getting rid of even more.

I am now eyeing up a book on complulsive shopping. Seriously.

ChihiroSen, I can heartily recommend a book called To Buy or Not To Buy by April Benson, which was recommended somewhere further up this thread (soory! can't remember who recommended it!). I read it (borrowed from the library:money:) and it has totally helped me curb my over-shopping.

Which is also why I have no new spends to declare . . . well none that count anyway! I have bought a pair of converse (£15) and a pair of ballet flats (£10) from the office sale (with 7% cashback and free postage code ) and also a vintage silk kimono from eBay.

Now the kimono is a bit of a random one: I met somebody at a friend's 30th a couple of months ago, and she was wearing this short kimono with leggins and a wide belt and it looked amazing. So have been lusting/eBay stalking vintage kimonos ever since. The one I bought was listed as damaged, because there's no collar on it, so I got it for £14, which for a couple of meters of silk is pretty good I reckon so even if it was useless I could make something else nice from it.

But when it arrived I realised it's actually half constructed, there's still tacking stitches round the sleeves and stuff. Anyway I'm going to attempt to finish it ( might be a bit beyond my seamstress skills!) and as such it doesn't count under CCC in my book, because it's now a craft project (and that's a different budget!) :T

Well as it's now July I figure I should declare my half-year total...

    £733

It actually isn't as bad as I expected. A huge chunk of it is still the over the knee boots from January as they were over £200 :o.

Am annoyed to notice that the total includes £75 for a summer coat which I haven't yet worn - it was partly a passing-exam reward, but is still a waste if it isn't used so must make an effort to wear it in the next few weeks. A maxi dress is also going to get a lot less wear than I hoped due to the usual DD+ problem ie. requiring layering with camisole etc. And I am very annoyed to find out via event photos that my latest Bravissimo dress requires stitching to keep the V high enough to avoid having my bra on show. If they can't get the cut right, who bl**dy can?

I haven't been in the mood or had time for shopping recently due to work being bonkers and exams for my masters course. But also realised that I do have quite a lot of what I really need and should only be adding bits where necessary.

The wardrobe is slowly being edited and I now have a stack of things that need mending, which will hopefully get sorted over the next few weeks now that my life is calming down. I also have a stack to go on Ebay which I suspect will take a while longer to persuade myself to make the effort.

Oh and the natural anti-moth strips I got via a Freebies board post are great - they actually smell lovely, like natural essential oils, so recommend those and may be picking up some more. The free ones are keeping my lovely fitted tweed coats safe til it's cold enough to wear them again.

    Hope all well

I know I am officially overspent :rotfl:and have no idea now by how much but you did keep me in check for a few months so not all bad:rotfl:BUT did a little shopping and got a mega bargain skirt £10 down from £60 in Kew:j:jit is very light cotton/silk so will pack well for my hols:)...also got a LA top (half price)a KEW top and some rather expensive knickers!I bought a bargain bra in a raspberry print with cream top and tried to get pants to match either raspberry or cream but you would not believe how hard it was, only pink in Marks but a hugh queue in the fitting rooms put me off.I could not find cream(except bridal very expensive ones ) in Jl but saw some raspberry ones same brand as bra so not a bad match...down from £17 to £12 a pair:eek::eek:never spent sooo much on pants before but was getting desparate as hate to wear unmatching undies(not that anyone sees them ...but should I get knocked down by a bus at least I will have nice undies on!!!)

did decide not to buy a cardi in La as not sure of the colour(why are shops so dark?)and when i got home realised i actually had one already in that colour:rotfl:Had to take a top to the door in Kew as so dark, did ask the SA 1st and said i don't want to set off the alarms........I set off the alarms much to the amusement of some japanese tourists who thought I be taking away by the police:rotfl:

took a chance on the top and it matches perfectly the skirt I bought for DS3s graduation so well pleased:):):):)

    Hello Everyone

Have to declare a pair of Leily Kelly trainers for DD2, was having a NSD reading the bargin threads and found them half price and she has always wanted a pair. DD1 now 15 wont wear pretty things so treating my 4 year old while I can. so £27.99

Got to buy school uniform shortly for DD2 as she starts in sept so will have to stay in control a bit longer grrrr

On the plus side sold a dress on ebay for £15 can't decide if that means I can spend £15 more on clothes now or if it should just be £15 paid off my credit card mmmm which would martin choose lol!

Binned a pair of trainers and listed a few more items on eBay. No new clothes to report...I won't be buying any til my next work uniform allowance period begins in a few weeks time.

    Hi everyone, two things:

First of all, can I join (albeit rather tardily) for the rest of the year please? I fritter money away on "bargains" like there is no tomorrow... but I've been going through the wardrobe recently and I do have the vast majority of stuff I need. Might well genuinely need some new bras by the end of the year, and when winter comes around I'll also be in need of replacement tights, a couple of long sleeved tees and some snuggly socks to go in wellies. But apart from that, I really shouldn't need much! Going on holibobs next week and have discovered I have FOUR bikinis lurking in the bottom of the wardrobe...

Anyway after that waffle, can I join and try for £100 for the rest of the year, including everything (undies and all)?

    The second thing:

The only good news is I recieved a £100 giftcard for a major store. So I have designated that as emergency clothes money. But as I already have a bulging wardrobe, it is going to have to be one hell of an emergency.

I didn't realise how bad my shoppping habits were until I joined this forum. I am determined to get them in check.

Just a suggestion, if you already have a bulging wardrobe... is it the kind of place you could pick up presents? Then you could stash it away for Christmas, or birthdays in the meantime...
