cha97michelle wrote:morning everyone.
Feeling a little grotty. Got up early yesterday with baby as DH had worked through the night, but then stopped up late to watch lord of the rings. Baby had a bottle of formula again. I might keep giving him the one on an evening as it made feeding through the day easier, and meant he slept from 10:30 to 4. I just wish i went to bed when he did.
I ummed and ahhed this morning about stopping up and doing some ironing. The bed won as i was feeling cold, and i was only there long enough to drop off and now feel very tired. Baby grizzled until i had got ready and is now asleep again. Typical.;)
I have grand plans for today for flyladying to keep on top of what got done at the weekend. My plans are highly flexible to cope with unexpected grizzling, or if my sisters are visiting again today. I hope they are as i got loads done while they were chatting to me last week.
Hope those of you feeling grotty feel a bit better later. Hugs to everyone.
Michelle, xx

Hi everyone!
Will go back and read the thread in a mo but hugs to all who need them.
Had a very good weekend and my friend's 40th birthday party went off well. There was also a mutual friend there who I haven't seen the summer and who isn't local and it was great to catch up. We were all laughing though because we were all at her 21st 19 years ago....then we'd have been up and strutting our funky stuff. This time both friends were in charity shop threads and moaning about their heels. We all also wanted the live music quieter so we could hear ourselves chat....mind you none of us have quite reached the stage of asking for ovaltine at the bar but there's time yet!!!
I felt I had a really good OS day yesterday. Managed to get my duvet washed and out and all the ironing done. We also tucked into HM carrot and coriander soup that I made on Sat and I turned out 2 weetabix cakes and a batch of choc crunchies. We sat down to delicious roast lamb [half price offer in Mr T] which OH had done for dinner....small person discovered mint sauce and smothered it over everything such was his enthusiam. It was all rounded off by a very relaxing Reiki healing session done by my friend who's currently doing the training and needed someone to practise on. It was lovely and I crashed out completely last night when I hit the hay!
Have a great day

Welcome back Moggins. Just noticed your postAiming for a life of elegant frugality wearing a new-to-me silk shirt rather than one of hair!0 -
arghhh, i'm freezing. i hate having a pre payment gas meter - need to get in gear and decide what company to go with and get them to get rid of these meters. we've ran out of gas - Oh is in bed not well and i can't go out on my own, so am currently wearing a fleece and am wrapped in two fleece blankets. my fingers are freezing!
think we will make bolognese in the slow cooker. we are having spag bol for dinner and will make a bulk portion and freeze in those tin takeaway (poundland) containers for easy hm ready meals.
currently addicted to the desperate housewives pc game - it is fab -like the sims only much more fun.
sold almost 40 pounds of stuff on ebay yesterday so very pleased. i've got loads of stuff to list- might get round to it one day lol!
weather here is miserable - lashing down with rain & very windy.
take care everyone:love: married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
Aftnoon all!
Its raining here at the mo which is a pain as I fancied going out for a walk, I wanted to find some pine cones ready to hang on the xmas tree when I put it up. I need to go out too as I need to do a full food shop and actually start making meals instead of being lazy. Ive decided that this week is the week to get organised, im still making sofa covers (it is taking an age!!) and ive neglected the house badly.
Order for the day is:
Do the dishes/clean kitchen
Tidy lounge
Dry washing
Ironing
Food shopping
Make a proper dinner
Do more sewing (the sofa covers WILL be completed this week!)
Anyhoo, off for a shower, have a great day all!

Afternoon.
Managed to save some money this morning! Spent more, but lets not dwell on that shall we?
I went to get my new light from Laura Ashley and it was 20% off so that was £25 saved. Got some bits in their 3 for 2 and so saved £15 there (stuff I was going to get anyway) Then went to Early Learning Centre for DDs birthday pressie, decided to grab some Christmas stuff too cos I had a 20% off voucher andsaved £21.97 there.
Great - £61.97 to me! (It'll get used somewhere else - don't worry)
Does mean I have started my christmas shopping - I NEVER start before christmas. Well, got to be organised at some time in my life, better start now.
DH is busy in the dining room.
Need to go and attack the ironing - see you later."You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -
Afternoon all
Well a bit of a bitter sweet day for me today - it's my last day as a childminder  but tomorrow is my first day as a full time OSer! :j
My last little one is asleep at the mo - goes home at 4.30 too so an early finish, we're not saying goodbye though, just a "see you soon" as I think there'd be a few wet eyes otherwise.
BM's doing its stuff for dough for rolls to go with HM burgers for dinner tonight, need to start cooking in shifts again as DH started in his new office today - won't be home until 7pm (normally home at 5.15pm so he'll be shattered) Mind you - just looked at the mince I got on Sunday and although still in date it's gone brown......the other pack is still red.....do I chance it???? I'll have a smell later and see what's what.
Tomorrow will be a huge sort out of all the childminding toys and they'll get bagged and boxed up and put in the loft until I do a boot fair next year, already promised a few bits to a new childminder in the area and some of the bigger bits have gone on freecycle. Will be nice to have my house back......well "ish" as I've still got no living room  Where do builders go to hide when it rains?
I've got a huge pile of ironing that I was supposed to do yesterday but I took pity on my DD's and rewarded them for being so good whilst we're so strapped for space with the building work, and took them to the cinema and out for lunch - not very MSE but sometimes these things have to be done. Will have to rework next weeks food budget to accomodate
Will try and make a start on the ironing before DH comes in, all depends what homework DD1 has - the weekend lot was a stinker - it's getting harder and harder to help her with her homework as she's a year 6 doing mostly year 7 and 8 work....luckily she seems to know what she's doing most of the time
Hugs to all those in need and I'll second that earlier reply of "new mum's - GET SOME REST!!!""Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Hi all
hope all those i appear to have offended have forgiven me for my remark about naughty boys, i did apologise on yesterdays thread and as i said i didnt really mean it!!:o
Anyway hope everyone is having a good/ok day today and hugs to all those who arent. Almost didnt post today as didnt want to put my foot in it again.
Have been busy at my daughters pre-school today being 'Mummy helper' and having fun with all the children. We have been making fat/seed balls for the birds in our gardens which was great fun??? A bit messy but the kids loved it!
They have also been getting ready for christmas by making decorations including 'star shaped santas' and getting glitter everywhere.... I love all the crafty stuff!!:D
Also got to take them all in a piggybank and certificate from pigsback which they tried really hard for so that was nice although it wasnt easy lugging 2 huge boxes there as we had 35 money boxes..... trying to teach the children how to save!!!! (will have to tell them about MSE next;) )
Enough from me for now!!

Hello everyone!! Grandson alert!!!!
Just a quick post to say He's here!!! arrived at 5.45 this morning after keeping us all up all night! DIL started on the dot of midnight, great timing baby!!!
DGS1 seems quite taken with him.
Anyway I'm only just home and I'm absolutely shattered! DIL is brilliant, but very tired. It was quick but very intense.
(((((hugs)))) to all that need them, although I've only managed the quickest of skim reads.
