Hi All
I am shattered - been up since 5.30am for a family event. It was nice but exhausting. The day has costed me about £45 but it was worth it.
I also heard from my best friend who now lives overseas and has told me she is engaged. I am so pleased for her - I will put together a small present for her and get her mum to take it over when she goes at the end of the month.
Yesterday was a NSD. Most of my DDs will come out tomorrow. I am very tired so I will be getting ready for bed soon.
It's very weird for it to be October and so hot!
Hope you are all okay!

Hello all,
I can't believe I've not been on to post for such a long time. The last few weeks have been hectic to say the least and the next few weeks will be even worse!
Work is really manic - I am regularly staying late just to keep the hamster wheel going but I am enjoying it. I just wish it wasn't so full on. I think things will feel a bit better later this week when some project decisions have been made and completed.
Life outside work has also been very busy. Looking back at the calendar, the last few weeks have had at least two or three evenings busy as well as the weekends so it has felt pretty full on. This weekend was no exception! This is the first time i've sat down but I really am avoiding the ironing [STRIKE]pile[/STRIKE] mountain!!
Moneywise - well my budget challenge wasn't too bad. I came in with about £70 to spare. Not fully sure of why but everything looked in place!!!This month is really going to be much harder to manage as we are out alot and I have to be away at the end of the month for my cousin's wedding. It also leaves very little time for Christmas preparation!
This next week involves at least three evenings out, a late appointment and a day out with some friends at the weekend. I need to make sure that my work wardrobe is ready, my bag packed etc so I can get through!
I really need to sit down and make a plan of a few things that I can get done everyday over the next few weeks so that I maintain control.
Writing that down has made it seem somehow worse so plan for tonight:- ironing
- plan for the week (including meals and snacks)
- sort work bag
- bed at a reasonable hour!

Does indeed sound very busy at your end! But well done on having spare cash at the end of the month. Hi!
Great to hear from you. Hypno - it was great to have the challange to aim for! I read that you had some unexpected stuff in October. At least now, we can be flexible and have ways to deal with things without it being dangerous!
This week has been manic - I feel like a dirty stopout! I haven't been home for one evening! Things are catching up with me - the house is a bit of a mess. I haven't thought about packing (in fact I need a suitcase first!), and I really need to get myself back on track.
To top it all off - something has happened to our new washing machine - so we will have to get that sorted asap. I can't stand the thought of time without a washing machine again!
Money has not been at the forefront of our minds this month - we have been too busy!!! I am trying to keep an eye on the balances but I do need to get back into control. I am pretty sure that it won't be pretty but there are some ways in which I can manipulate the budgets when I get back.
This week will be a bit quieter from Wednesday and I hope to have the majority of my packing done by the weekend so I can spend some quality time with DH.
A few other things that need to be done this week:
- upgrade my phone - I keep looking but haven't made a decision. Need to just get it sorted
- update the budget and finances (and update signature on here)
- buy suitcase
- pack for trip away
- organise travel insurance
- do something to keep me active every day
Right - I am quite tired so better thing about heading to bed.

Still busy busy busy then! But all in a good way, it seems, so that's ok!

Busy Busy Busy is exactly how it has been.
Work has been manic. Lots of late nights that will continue next week.
Have been away and back again for my cousins wedding - all in one week! It's taken me a while to get back to normal.
I did plan to post yesterday but ended up in a foul mood! DH had decided to 'tidy up and move all my stuff around!
I have spent quite a lot of time trying to sort my finances over the last couple of days. I am so close being in a position to really start saving but DH has got debts that never seem to disappear. He just seems to move from one 0% deal to another. If he is going to move my stuff - I am going to get him to deal with his finances;). This is also important if we want to move forward next year.
My personal financial goals for 2012 will be:- Maintain the monthly basic costs to our set minimum. This will give us comforatable living.
- NO USE OF CREDIT CARDS!!!!!!!
- 10 NSDs per month.
- Overpay mortgage by £250 per month.
- Save £300 per month in monthly saver.
- Save for bathroom by August 2012 (I have the money borrowed from somewhere else - it needs to be replaced).
- Save £2500 into rainy day saver.
I have to really think what I want to achieve personally. I think next year is all about change personally but I really need for us to have some stability and safety net.
How are all of you?

Sorry to hear that you are so busy...goals for 2012 sound good and totally agree about how much money gets freed up when debt free.0
