Hey urg, sorry you've not been having a great time - I really think we are twins, I've been really busy and stressy recently too (and neglecting my diary), hope everything is starting to look up now. x0

Morning
The sun is shining! I have been up since 3am - not sure why I woke up but the hayfever is not helping today.
I have created a long list of things to do this weekend but will try to keep it under control so I don't exhaust myself!
Work has been busy - thankfully not too much spent but I have been eating badly. I ended it with a lovely Thai curry yesterday. I really need to get my eating back in control.
Will be heading out soon with my flatmate for her wedding fitting which will be fun.
My list of jobs today:- Washing - at least two loads
- Ironing
- Get rid of 27 things
- Clean bathroom
- Post - parcel to friend, payment to a venue for returning my phone charger and send of decision about a maturing bond
- Get DH to set up new ISA so we can transfer his old one
- Call sofa company - my cushions are sagging really badly after only 2 years!
- Call aunt and friends for girly catch up
- Toenails
- Buy friend's wedding present
I also need to get my finances in order as I get paid next week!
Waving to you all.

that's quite a list0

Thanks Taxi - I think I managed to get about half of it done and most done over the rest of the week.
Wednesday was the start of a new month and I am on a mission to get back on the MSE bandwagon. i have got a new notebook and am keeping a record of ALL of my finacial bits and bobs including how much I am spending every day.
My goal for this month is to
a) break even
b) keep a spending record
c) 10 nsds
d) 3/5 lunches to work per week
e) some form of exercise 5 times per week!
There will be some battles this month - I have a dental appoitment this month which may be quite expensive
; I also have a wedding and an engagement party go to. It's a good thing I put aside money for emergencies and presents!
I have also been doing my best to develop my cooking skills - I have spend most of the day at my aunts learning how to make her famous samosas. Mmmmms, they were yummy. I have a batch in the fridge to fry and take to dad's tomorrow. It was a lovely to spend the day with her.
Tonight I am out with my flatmate and a few friends for a meal. Tomorrow I really do have to attack the ironing! It's more than a mountain!!!
Hope you are all okay!

Hello all,
Just thought I'd update.
- My spending record is ongoing. I have been writing down every outgoing. I hope that this will keep me disciplined (although I have my eye on some new make-up which I will have to avoid!)
- I've managed 3 NSDs so far - I have to try and get another 2 this week
- I've taken in lunch only once this week so tomorrow and Friday will hopefully involve packed lunches and therefore NSDs
- Exercise - absolutely none. I will have to try and redeem this this week!
Tonight I am meeting a friend I haven't seen for about 2 years. We work in the same industry and it is really nice having someone to bounce ideas off. It'll be nice to catch up.
Not a lot else is happening.
Hope all in diaryland are okay.

everything sounding good and hope you have a good catch up with your friend0

Thanks Taxi - had a lovely time with friend.
Been busy as usual ... and sick.
Let's talk money first - I'm still keeping my spending diary but have not many NSDs recently - bad planning on my part.
The washing maching finally packed up on Sunday so we have bought a new one using our wedding vouchers so I haven't had to touch the 'emergency savings'. It won't be delivered until next Tuesday so we will have to cope/take washing over to our parents.
I have also opened a savings account to help to pay for the kitchen/bathroom and to start building savings for the future.
I managed to get a bug on Sunday night and had to take yesterday off work. I went back to work but was pretty exhausted. Feel much better now.
We've been pretty stunned by the 'riots' and looting here in London. We've not been affected where we are although there were threats that the town centre I have to go through would be affected tonight. It's really quite sad. Also worried about a couple of friends who work for the police. The news is rather scary!
Hope you are all safe.

HI Everyone
Had taken a day off today as I knew the weekend would be busy with flatmates weddingl It went brilliantly and she is now off on her honeymoon. Her brother moved in last night and was exhausted! He starts a new job today.
I had another bad night last night - my stomach bug hasn't fully cleared up. I ended up readng a magazine for 3 hours as I couldn't sleep.
Today started far too early with a visit from the Sofa people to see if they could help with the 'sagging' cushions - sadly not much can be done. So DH and I will have to get rid of our aggression on the cushions to make them plumper.
I've been to the bank to open a new account for the savings and close one that had poor interest. It's so hard to find accounts with decent interest. I am also trying to keep the 'wedding' money separate from the repayment of the CC so I am keeping the money in a different pot. I also picked up some bits that we needed while I was in town but tried to behave myself.
This afternoon has been spent on sorting out the bedroom. I did want to do the whole flat but there's too much to do:o - I've let it get really bad. I will focus on the bedroom and get it finished in the next hour (15 min bursts a la Flylady!).
The new washing machine
I then want to clear the counters in the kitchen and defrost the freezer...
So much for a day off!!!
Hope you are all okay in diaryland.

Hello honbun,
I was quite freaked out by the riots too, really odd watching in Greece- seeing places I knew, it was like watching a film. Glad they seem to be over now although there are a lot of police about!
Sorry you have had a stomach bug, hope you are better now?
I was looking at savings bonds but if I put away 500 pounds for a year I would get a tenner.............not really worth the hassle.
I am also decluttering - the shed first flipping boxes galore!
take care Hon
xxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Sorry to hear about the tummy bug..hope that clears soon and hope you can get some proper sleep as life is so much harder when tired x0
