  • Hey guys,

Hope everyone is doing well. I've got a few items on at the moment with lots of watchers, but am desperately holding out for a free listing weekend- guess it'll be next weekend now if the do one per month?
Also, I have bought a bundle of broken mobile phones online as my boyf is looking for a specific part for his that has broken- don't ask, I dont' think he has the first clue how to fix it but apparently his 'mate' does!!!:p
Does anyone know if I relist the other phones in the bundle will this make me a business seller? If I make any profit at all it'll prob be £1 or something so I don't want to have all the hassle of having to change to be a business seller, but will ebay spot that I have bought something and am selling it on (although not for profit or intact?!)

    Thanks all xx

  • I need some advice here please, I sold a coat and have recieved this messege :
Hi. Thanks for the quick postage, the jacket arrived yesterday. As I'm an 18 and it's 14-16 I was expecting it to be on the small side, but as I'm loosing weight at the moment that isn't a problem. Sadly though it's enormous on me! Sleeves reach past the end of my fingers and it's big across the chest. Such a shame. The label does say what you'd put on the ad though, don't know how they get these sizes!

Im not sure how to reply, i dont offer returns, the item was as discribed, and i really can't see how it would be enormous, its definatly a proper size 14-16, thats the only reason i've sold it as I AM a size 18 and its now too tight, and i have an average sized "chest" (lol)
She's not actually asked if she can get a refund, im struggling to come up with a reply :o

I dont want to end up out of pocket, i charged £4 p&p, and it actually cost nearer £7 to send.
    It sold for almost £40.

    Help!!

What sort of clothing do you have Katie? Good names to sell are: Per Una, Monsoon, higher end high street labels - even better if they have tags on.

And what prices are you starting things at?

How are you taking your photos? Using a mannequin, real person modelling, hanger on back of door? Make sure the lighting is good and you can see the colour and condition well from your photos. Perhaps you need more photos. You can have 12 free images in the clothing categories.

Well the bits I put on initially were the bits that I thought were more likely to sell - a Ghostbusters t-shirt and some H&M trousers still with tags are the only ones that have sold. The other bits were things like Disney, and the 'Punkyfish' brand (if you've heard of them - they're more alternative, with a shop in Camden). I've never been a big label person, so I guess they're not 'high end' as such. I started them at 2/3 quid depending what it was, but have just relisted a couple of items at 99p (inc adidas vest top worn about once!), but still not a lot of luck. Still a few days left though...

I take as many photos as possible really, but there's only so many angles you can photograph a t-shirt! lol. If they're tops I hang them on the back of the door, trousers/skirts just on the floor really. I don't have a mannequin and wouldn't dare put myself on the internet! lol. I think the photos are good quality, and it is clear to see the colour/quality from the photos...

Claudiac - what do you mean re the scheduling? Sorry, it's confused me! I know you can upload everything and then set it to start at a certain time etc, but I thought it cost more to do it that way?

    Thanks for the tips guys

I know punkyfish - Camden is one of my favourite places for a good day out. The fajita stall in the lock market does THE best chicken fajitas I have ever had!

I found a lot of my good brand stuff didn't sell this month and I think its just down to the time of year as it sounds like you are doing everything fine. Most of the things I listed would normally sell for me so I just put it down to Jan being skint month and now people have been paid/are being paid they will start spending again

You can schedule a listing and then go back and edit it to "start now" instead of when you set it before. The fee for scheduling is only charged if the listing does commence at that time you set. If you change the box to start the listing now then you are not charged that fee. Hope that makes sense, I found it hard to describe when I mentioned in last month
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155
  • Thanks JESAROSE - I knew someone had given that wee tip about scheduling - just couldn't remember who, but it works great for me, since I have been known to list at stupid o'clock!

So 2 1/2 days left on my 5 auctions, bid on one item of £1.04 and watchers of 11,4,0,2 and 1 so there is hope that I might get a few more bids but ebay certainly won't make me rich in January! Need to plan what I'm putting up for sale on Sunday I think - 5 more auctions plus any no sales from these bits, have 1 certain and a few possibles just need to make decisions tonight. Think I'll get them ready tonight if I can and then list on Sunday night.

Good luck everyone with things finishing soon.

Oh ok, I think I understand now. So you upload and get everything ready to go at stupid o'clock but schedule it for sometime in the future, and then at reasonable o'clock you go on and click a couple of buttons to change it so it starts immediately? That makes sense - thanks for the tip!

Yeah you're probably right re January/no money.....but I need the money now! haha. I guess I'll just have to be patient and, as claudia said, keep plugging away! Wish me luck!! :D
  • Hi all!

I spend a lot of time lurking on a lot of boards, but am biting the bullet and would like to join this challenge please!

Been Ebaying bits and pieces for a few years, but would like to start tracking what I generate and use it to clear debts. Also hoping some encouragement from other might keep my motivated to get listing!

Done well today, as got £30 for a dress I don't wear any more (half of the original cost price so not bad!)

Just can't decide whether to let the money accrue in paypal, or is it more sensible to pay every penny straight off a card (...think I might have answered my own question there!)

Will set myself a target of £40.00 per month, but might change it as I see how I do! So annually £480.00
