  • Very pleased with results tonight :j ebay sales now at £47.83 after fees and p&p. Got one more thing finishing tomorrow and will have to have a dig about for my next batch of stuff to sell.

Isnt it odd how the things you think will do well sell for mediocre amounts and the absolute junk you list on the off chance do well!

I am waiting for a free insertion fees weekend again... but maybe I should just keep the items to relist for that weekend and post new ones. Now the start of the month it's close, it should be a good moment. And valentine's day presents on the horizon!! :D

    Help Guys

    I have done something stupid!!!!
I had a great week with sale & I have been backwards & forwards to the post office with dd2 who haven't been very well & grizzly we have been sleeping in the sofa!!!!
So anyway I posted my ebay items off.... & three of them haven't got there....but I don't know if it was due to lack of sleep, a dizzy moment I only sent the items first class not recorded & one of the buyers is being quite nasty !!!! :( I am worried about my feedback too as I have had 3 negs over the last 12 months & it has dropped me to 98.4% I have had 10 feedbacks left in the last month but my % hasn't gone up & I am now worried if I get anymore neg, yes am part to blame & I hold my hands up but I am so worried that I won't sell anymore items !!!!

Sorry to babble but I don't wanna relist any items.... I am worried ?

Oh dear gingababe - when did you send this off and did you get proof of posting? Royal Mail always say allow 14 days before they will investigate things. If it's less than this I'd ask them to wait a bit longer as post can be a bit irratic. If it's a low value item and you don't have proof of posting I'd just refund and then they have nothing to neg you about. Hope you get it sorted soon.

  • Oh dear GB, isn't it horrid when you get a item not recieved email :(

How long ago did you post the items? tbh my 1st class items almost always get delivered the next day, and sometimes even when i sent second class they where there the next day!

The post office dont class items as lost until 15 days  which is an awfully long time when you have a unhappy buyer on your back.

I learned the hard way and now insist on sending anything over £10 recorded.

Im not sure what to advise, as i dont know the circumstances fully, but if it were me, if the items were £5 or less and posted over 7 working days ago i would refund, proberly others wouldn't but i need to keep my good feedback because ebay makes me a decent income each month.

If the items were more expensive i would try and stall the refund, explaining that 3 items from the same batch have gone missing and ask them to please bear with you for a few days :o

All that said, items not recieved claims are on the increase, if they are trying to scam you and take advantage of you not sending recorded then theres not much you can do im afraid :(

When leaving feedback for buyers there should be a option to report the item not recieved, but not add to there positive feedback numbers, but let others see how many items have be reported "not recieved"

  • Ask them to check at their local Sorting Office as sometimes they don't leave a card. I had someone who didn't receive an item who e-mailed me and said that if they didn't get a refund ASAP they would give me a negative, I sent an e-mail back to say sorry the item had not arrived and that there was no need to threaten me with negative feedback they only had to ask for a refund, I've since got a 1 or 2 star for P&P so am assuming it is from this person.

Don't know why people have to get snotty, if they had said they hadn't received it and not had any communication back fair enough but to threaten negative feedback or get nasty when it's the first you've heard of it is ridiculous.

I did have a buyer whose item did not arrive and it turned up about 2 weeks later after I had refunded and they did let me know and paid for the item again which was nice, there are not many Ebayers like that around anymore.

    Hi
Everyone, thanks for your kind words the item was £9.99, I would have sent it recorded & to be fair I had dd2 crying a queue behine me tutting & was in a bit of a tizzy !!!!! I know no excuse ..... the buyer has already tried to open a item not rcieved they brought it last tuesday paid on thursday & I posted it on friday ! To be fair I would have expected it to be there !???? I have been as honest as I can be & asked for them to at least give me till friday (so a week in total!) as the post office are saying 15 working days! I have proof of postage!

Do you think I am being fair???

    Thanks for all your help

  • I think they're being impatient as it could still turn up with it not even being a week... but the good thing is you've got proof of posting, so if you refund them then you can claim back the amount anyway. I'd be tempted to refund them tbh just to get them off my back.

I've sold another 3x items, making £21.37 clear profit. One of the items I won and the other two were given to me to sell, so I'm please. My total profit is now £187 :j

Also, I have a PS3 60GB to sell but I am worried about selling it on ebay... plus I'm not even sure what the going rate for them is?! It's my brother's and I don't want him being disappointed in the price so I'm thinking I might put it on Gumtree first to see if it gets any interest. I'd rather someone collected it and paid cash, than risk being scammed on ebay with it being such a big amount of money.

Hey Gingababe - sorry for the tough time your having with that purchaser...

Hey CompletelyLost - can you direct me to how you'd get a refund if you had proof of postage? Thanks so much!

You need to wait 15 days and then fill out the P58 form, you can print one off here -
    ftp://ftp.royalmail.com/Downloads/public/ctf/rm/Inland_P58_form_English_09.pdf

or get one from the Post Office. Fill it out, attach your proof of posting (I always make a photocopy first incase the form goes missing in the post! But send the original obviously) and send it away to the freepost address :) Usually they either send you a cheque for the value of the item, or sometimes if it's worth less than £5, they send stamps to cover the value.
