It's the guy in the Post Office's fault, he said to me yesterday that I was lucky that I've not had any parcels go missing - spoke to soon and jinxed me.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

Also I sometimes buy rubble sacks from Wilko - they're blue, very thick. I cut them to size depending on the item and then tape them up.
:j
Thanks! I will look at this, since my items finish on Sunday and I do not have time to order from eBay for this time.FairyShazza wrote: »I buy mine off Ebay, you can get them in packs all the same size but I tend to buy packs of mixed size bags as then they cover all different kinds of sizes that I need to post.
Just search mailing bags
Thanks too! That is going to be the next step, I am a noob and I did not think about p&p until today  Silly me. My next "set of clutter" is the mountain of shoes I have, so good bags are required if I do not want the heels to break the package I think.too_much_debt wrote: »Blimey in the space of 15 minutes I've had to refund for two items. F*****
They should not make you pay straight away, apparently a claim to the PO takes 15 working days before they consider the item lost. So the buyer should wait. Royal Mail gives compensation and refund of postage costs if you have kept proof of delivery and comply with the T&C ( see http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content2?catId=70700722&mediaId=79800735 ). You can find the form here: http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content2?catId=69800733&mediaId=80300735 .Apparently it might take a few months to get back the refund but at least you will have it and it is not a lost, just inconvenience. Really bad manners that buyerCan you leave him negative feedback? :rotfl:

Have hit my £150 target that I was hoping to get out of the free listings - theres still 24 hours to go on the first 60 items and another 40 end on sunday so hoping this will keep going up but so pleased to have hit what I was hoping for already! :jLife is what you make it.0

martafdz - if you have shoes to post I find my local shoe shops often have spare boxes. We have a cheap shoe shop that gets loads of shoes in with boxes but they don't sell them with boxes so throw loads out. Most places will pay to have recycling taken away so they would probably be very happy to give them to you. I know some Brantano stores are happy to give away boxes so they are worth checking too.
I wouldn't send shoes in a bag, not worth the risk of damage. Much easier to post boxed, and easier to wrap with some brown paper
Padded envelopes can be bought in Poundland if you need some quick for other items before mailing bags can be ordered and delivered. Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
JesaRose, thanks a lot for that!! I had not thought about that, I have a couple of shoe shops nearby where I could ask. Thanks!!
EDIT: Just went to eBay and my 2 empty cartridges have gone from 99p up to £4.20 and still 2 days to go! I am amazed!!Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Hi
Been lurking on this thread since it started and just thought i'd say well done to the profit makers and keep trying to the others.
I've only sold a couple of things on ebay before, but i'm determined to get some funds to help pay of debts.
I have listed 13 items, 4 of which have bids on, and i'm currently sitting at £10 sales before fees, and they still have 5 days to go!:D (you can tell i'm chuffed lol)
my biggest surprise has been an item that i couldnt seem to give away at a car boot, it has 1 bid and 17 watchers :T
i'm planning to list some more today/tmrw. It's great to be clearing out in the process lol.
will keep following this thread, some great tips to be had.

Hi HalfPint ! I am also a newbie really, since I sold the odd thing in the past but never actually listed loads of items. The items sit at the moment at £7-£8 before fees but I hope some of them would have some bids this weekend. And if not, I will relisted them! Lol Good luck!!Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Having some good ebay sales. now have bids on magazines that are for Jan 2011, one for more than its worth. thats a bit odd given they're still in the shops lol!0

Lol purpleroses that is weird. Maybe it has sold out or something?
Mine are now at £9.42 excl p&p. So far so good. People are surprising me, all my "brand new with (or without) tags" items have no bids, and some of them are well known brands. However, they have put bids on used unbranded pieces of clothing that I was thinking of just giving away to charity. I do not understand it.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*
