    Morning everyone!

Excited to see several items up a few pounds today and transfered the first £80 to my savings account (after all fees/postage/small packing purchase etc). Will take myself to the PO later to send my first 3 parcels.

Was miffed though yesterday when someone bid on an item and then wanted me to retract it as she wasn't aware it was collection only. I mean, the P&P section says collection only, and the listing has great big letters COLLECTION ONLY. And more annoying is the original bidder then had her maximum bid exposed due to this silly woman (FB of 5..) so it looks a bit dodgy. I don't mind if the original bidder wins at 99p (her max is £10) as I just want the item gone. Never mind. Oh - I did block the silly one.

Another eight things listed this morning, the Post Office women are going to hate me next week! :D Sitting at £16.95 so far.
  • hello everyone,

have decided to de clutter and do my best to save for our holiday by selling on ebay and not spending the profit back on ebay!

Have got 3 items on, 2 with bids. When I work out profit, how much do I take of for paypal fees is it 10%?

I get my packaging from OH work - luckily we get lots of jiffy bags
    Mum, wife and dinnerlady!
  • We save all of our packaging from things that we get sent through the post. Any jiffy bags, boxes of all sizes etc, they really do come in useful! Most importantly, you're recycling these things and getting them for free. :)

Just thought it was worth a mention - i've seen alot of people saying 'the post office is going to hate me when i take all of my parcels in'. The simple solution to that is to print your own postage labels with royal mail through Ebay and Paypal. It is so easy to do and means no queueing in the Post Office, you can just pop them into any post box. Obviously, the larger things people ebay wont fit through a box, but small items like clothes, books, dvds, games etc etc will all be fine.

  • Another person of the male variety here!

Slow going this week, bid-wise, but most of mine end on Saturday afternoon so with luck there will be a last minute rush.

If I have lots of parcels I normally weigh them and find out how many of each weigt (ie. between 100g and 250g or 251g and 500g) then I go into my post office and I say I have 5 of these and put one parcel on ie. £1.72, and 3 of these £2.24, mind you I've known the guys in my post office for a few years and they prefer me to do it like that too as it's quicker, plus it's better than holding the queue up doing one at a time.

hi i used to this but when an item goes missing, you have no proof that it was posted. so what you can do, is print all your own postage off & go to the post office to get your proof of postage stamped - hopes this makes sense!

Yes, you can do that too, all the post office then have to do is stamp the certificates which takes just a second. Either way it's quicker!

However, i have to say that i've never had anything go missing and i've printed lots of things with my own postage. The only time i get my certificate of posting stamped is if something is going out of the UK, to Europe, and there might be a problem.
