I think I will join as I need to do a major declutter in this house. Loads of DD's clothes to sell, some are like new! mostly next so hopefully should do ok.

My OH is always saying its not worth it, take it all to the charity shop, so I am always losing my motivation which gets me down:(hopefully you guys will keep me going!

I buy (have bought) bundles of clothes on Ebay for my kids. Next and nearly new do sell well. Take a good look at what else is on offer - take lots of excellent pictures; use an external image place (photobucket for EG) and HTML your pictures in for free. Google basic HTML tutorials if you dont know or get some free templates, cutting and pasting after the tutorial. The better the pictures/listing, the more money you'll get.

Lots of designer/nearly new etc can sell for £100 or so. The most I have ever paid for was my sons Next bundle and that was £50 plus postage (ish); there was loads in it and some of it he is still wearing almost a year later. I dont go over £50 as I have a tight budget (even for secondhand stuff!) so average at £30ish.

So £50 is not much compared to what you have spent, but it's £50 off the CC bill, or a meal out, or a day-trip and so on. Or, stick it on Ebay and don't tell OH whilst pocketing the money!

    Welcome OshKosh and family

I buy brown paper etc when I need it, but generally I use any stuff that I can get from reception at work (if you have one) I have asked them to save any paper they get and I just either cut off the label or label over it by writing the name address etc on a piece of plain paper and taping it over the old one. I also pick up any spare boxes and other packaging (e.g. bubble wrap or polystyrene etc)that I might find hanging around. I also tend to package using old scrunched up wrapping paper, and scrunched up carrier bags in boxes to cushion items, to save buying extra packaging.

I love the idea of recycling but its also money saving too. Hope this helps.

P.S. I have also cut up brown paper bags I get from shops and use them like paper on a roll.

Hi Guys, I used to work in an accident repair shop and they use special brown paper for masking off cars. I buy a roll 18" wide but 200metres long for about £4 from places like Partco or Autoshops. I use it for everything it's really cheap and at Christmas, we wrap presents to each other in it and decorate it with craft stuff, glitter, cotton-wool snowmen etc, but I also use it for sending parcels!

Can I ask how many items you would expect in a bundle? Or what the norm is? My neice and nephew both live with my parents and they have loads of boxes of baby clothes from newborn - 2 years old and I suggested they make bundles but we aren't sure how many items make a decent bundle to attract people but wont cost the earth in postage! Any advice?

Something that is varied and as you said, doesn;t cost the eath for P&P. I steer clear of bundles with 2 x jeans, 1 x top and 25 x vests. Thats not a bundle!!

I also hate the small bundles of 4 items that charge £9 for P&P where something with 20 items in it costs the same P&P. As long as the items are relevant to the P&P then it doesn't matter what the bundle is. Personally (very personally) I look at a bundle to see how long it will last and is it everything I need (IYSWIM).

Perfect thanks :D I had kind of thought of bundling enough for an outfit and selling for a small amount per outfit but maybe make more sense then to make a bundle of a few outfits. I just hate spending time putting loads on ebay and then they don't sell so if I have an idea of what works beforehand that really helps me out so thanks :D

Best thing to do is to do an advanced search and click completed listings then you can see if any have sold recently. If the price is in green they sold.

Might be worth putting CD's on musicmagpie.com too and seeing what they would give you for them :D
