  • Igamogam - sure I have read a thread about this on the ebay board? Think its to do with paypal implementing a faster payments system. Ive withdrawn some money today and havent had any problems - but my money is going to take the normal 3 days....

I havent asked for anything different than I usually do - on my account there is no longer the 'free' get it in 3 days option now it should be all get it in 2hrs.......... Paypal are having to come into line with EU banking rules regarding electronic transfers and they are failing miserably because its all cocked up

Hi guys, I'm finding this problem too with PP. I tried what too_much_debt did and changed the amount from £55 to £45 and it went through without the review, just within 2 hours and money will be in my account.

I hope your problem will get sorted out soon Igamogan.

PS. just read my email, the one you usually get after withdrawing and it is being 'reviewed' which could take up to 24hrs then deposited within 2hrs after.

I made a withdrawal on the 30th Aug and that one was transfered within 2 hours which I thought as unusual cos it's normally 3 days. I didn't know about the changes then.

Paypal is a nightmare at moment - some business threatening legal action - I have emailed TWICE and no reply Phoned twice and got cut off first time and just could not get second person to understand what my complaint was. Third attempt at moving money has failed. Be warned!

  • Wow - how incredibly frustrating for those of you trying to withdraw money. Someone at Ebay/Paypal is definitely getting an earful about this I'm sure. AFM -I have to admit that I buy so much from Ebay that I tend to leave my sales there. Especially with 1yr old twins it seems that I have a revolving door of items coming in and going out.

Igamogam - hope you can find an amount to withdraw that works. (They must have implemented some very odd rules to have some amounts go through and not others, or it's a time based thing.)

Long story short. Seven attempts to transfer money and seven reversals. 4 emails all unanswered. Nearly an hour on phone with reluctant paypal front line staff - not wanting to pass onto to supervisors. I have been told its a glitch ( now fixed madam) its for my own peace of mind its company policy blah blah blah. Last one was well your account doesnt accept faster payments.........................as far as I know it does - major UK High st bank !!!!!!. So nice ( not) supervisor 'Sharon' ( really?) told me to call my bank and ask them to verify they accepted faster payments...................what?? Anyway I did and the person on the other side just couldnt believe what I was saying and yes of course bank accpets faster payments So rang PP again and was cut off TWICE when asked to speak to supervisor evetually when put on hold for another 10 mins I was told that 'Sharon' was emailing me as we spoke ( joy) to tell me to 'refresh' my account as it has been on the system for a long time! OK this is not quite a short story as I cannot believe it all myself. It would appear what is meant by refresh is take it down and put it up again..............is this a Mickey Mouse operation or a serious global financial company. Anyway lets see what happens. Forgive typos I am sooo cross

  • OMG Ifamogam - you have more patience than me! That is a complete nightmare and I HATE shoddy customer service. (I work in customer service myself and I know how systems should work) Really hope you get you money soon - its a shame Paypal have the monopoly on this!
Cant even threaten to go somewhere else.
