  • I swear I've just spent TWO HOURS packaging up some car parts (sold for my mum).
    Absolute nightmare!!!

Will be glad to see the back of them tomorrow when the courier comes to pick them up.

I have a load of my brother's old clothes that he was going to ditch, so I took them... I'm a glutton for punishment when it comes to taking on other peoples cast offs. Will wait for a free listing weekend before I list them though.

    Hi everyone,

Congratulations on all your January totals - you've all done amazingly! Unfortunately I am still trying to find my motivation so have only sold a handful of things, and only have a few items still listed (or rather relisted!). I will definitely try harder in February, as the house is becoming overrun with junk!!

Just a question though - how long do you wait for a buyer to pay before opening a case? My item ended last Sunday, so I sent the invoice on Monday (I think some buyers wait to receive that before paying) but I have still not heard anything from the buyer. Is a week long enough or should I give him/her longer? It's not a lot of money, but is still annoying that I've "sold" something and haven't had anything to show for it yet! :o

    Thanks

I usually send an invoice after 2-3 days of not paying, then if they still haven't paid I open a case on the 8th day.

  • Katie07 - Ive still got a non payer from the weekend, however they have just bid on something ending on Sunday so I suppose I have to wait for payment. Have had no communication off them!
Have just sat down to try and list 15 items to end in 10 days time..........................Got loads of expenditure coming up and Half term so trying to raise some funds!!
  • I've always been able to open an unpaid case after 4 days. Fortunately, I've only had to do it twice and only one of those didn't pay.

  • Thanks Slipper :) the viewer we had yesterday was looking for a 3-bed house for an investment, we only have a 2-bed :( fingers crossed for the one tomorrow. It's just nice to finally get some interest. Getting the house ready for viewing is a lot easier :)

You'll do well in selling you're baby clothes. I put mine in bundles of sleepwear(vests and sleepsuits), tops, bottoms, or outfits. And in similar sizes. I find it sells better than having a mixture of everything.

CL, you're well-stocked up :) think of all the profit you'll be making this month. Wrapping up stuff can be a chore sometimes, I suppose we better get used to it :D
  • Talking about unpaid case, I opened one a few days ago. They haven't paid for an item that ended 3rd jan, I told you I don't mind waiting :D getting a bit worried, I looked at their 100% ratings, 33 feedbacks, and 5 of those have a negative comments  who knows how many more didn't bother leaving a feedback. I wouldn't, it will only add to their + count. This buyer seem to be notorious of bidding and not paying. I got in touch with live chat and asked why this buyer isn't suspended/banned yet. Wasn't aware that you can set your seller pref. to block bidders that has unpaid strikes within month on their account. I've set mine. I'm fuming that they can get away with messing people about :o just thinking of how much effort and time we put in when it's FLD:D :rotfl:

MM - I totally agree. It's too bad your settings weren't set up to exclude buyers like that by default. I thought mine were?! I do think that Ebay should just put a blanket hold on accounts like that for at least a month. I also noticed that my one unpaid buyer's profile was never updated (not even now 6mos later) with the fact that they did not pay up. They are still at 100% despite my unpaid process going through. Certainly not fair as even though I got the final value fee back I did not get back my listing charge:mad:
