Aargh! I can't list anything on ebay. I think it's because my work laptop has a really old version of internet explorer - I can get part way, but it won't add photos & keeps telling me I haven't selected a category (even though I did) and won't go any further...
I tried to do it via my mobile but you can't list that way.

Right, I downloaded turbo lister which seems to be working as far as creating my listings, but it won't upload due to the following error:
"Error - Paypal may delay the settlement of funds to ensure smooth transactions"

This error is appearing on both the items I tried listing - I want to just select Paypal as the payment type & this is ticked in an uneditable box (I think it is always selected for security now?)

Have I selected something else that is causing the error? I've been through the listing & can't see anything obvious!

Also, it says the fee for each listing would be 25p - I think the insertion fee based on start price £5. Does this get ignored if I upload this weekend during the free listing period?

Thanks in advance for any help!:j

  • Holidayaholic, using Turbolister is not included in the free listing promotion you have to list through the Sell Your Item page on Ebay.

I don't know about the first question but I seem to remember reading that Turbolisted items don't qualify for the free listing weekend (sorry :()

Occasionally I have had the PayPal error but it hasn't stopped me uploading, just given me the error and still let me choose "upload now" anyway
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155
  • Thanks, I hadn't realised - reduced my £5 listings to £4.99 to take the listing fee from 25p to 15p. As this is my only option for loading at the moment, it'll have to do.

If I list at 99p is it still free though?

I've tried again to upload one of my items, but it takes ages then says
"1 item had errors and could not be uploaded".

Hmph. Going to have a google....

I''ve only ever managed to sell one book on GM but it's a nice thing to have in the background that doesn't involved much maintenance. I just kept my GM books in a safe place and reminded myself not to list them anywhere else.

I gave up in the end because I didn't like the middleman - my book was sold to someone via a listing GM had put on Amazon so when the buyer didn't acknowledge recieving it, I clicked to contact them and got through to GM who pretty much said I had to be patient. I don't think they did anything to find out on my behalf.
    Thank you competition posters!

  • I've listed 20 items so far.
I'm going to save some for tomorrow, to end on a Sunday.

Sold two more items this eve, one that must've been relisted about 10x, so just shows persistence pays (...pennies :o).

I've run-out of stuff to Ebay. All I have left are a load of books and CD's, these sell better on Amazon and Play.
