your dress is lovely, just the sort of thing I have been looking around for, dressy as you can dress it up with accessories for posh, and not too dressy to wear floating about on a hot summers day (if we get any, that is) xxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Yes thats why I wanted to make it for this weekend, and now that BF has surprised me with a holiday at the end of August/Sept, even better useage for evenings around the marina perhaps!your dress is lovely, just the sort of thing I have been looking around for, dressy as you can dress it up with accessories for posh, and not too dressy to wear floating about on a hot summers day (if we get any, that is) xx
What I would really like to make is a Dress Cover bag to take away, but I wont have time now as we are off on Thursday. Perhaps the next time. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Do you have a zipper foot on your machine? I used to find it made a big difference, once I'd worked out how to use it ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Yes I bought a special foot for the invisible zips, I also have the ordinary ones. I think it was more of when they decided to insert it, and how it went over/passed the seams/lining on the inside. Anyway, it will surfice, and I will practise invisible zips when I get back after the weekend.
Today my Eldest Biggest is coming over with the new baby, and one of the Mums from the nursery and her two kids are coming around. So its going to be very busy.
I just had to pay an excess customs charge of £13.77 on some patterns that came from America. NEVER again.
Just hung out the washing and the rain is looming. Thank goodness for the cover over the dryer.:DWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well not the day I was expecting.
Poor Biggest of Mooloo is having trouble with her fella. He is not sure life is what he wants! ha. She is worried that after all she is going to end up being a single Mum afterall. So devestated. She ended up having a lie down in my room for half an hour with a cover on and the curtains drawn, but of course the small kids around was not conjusive to a sleep.
She has not long gone home. Texts between them have not been brilliant.
I feel guilty that I cannot do much for her but be there and talk about the practicalities. When I get back after the weekend I will check up on her.
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT TWIN TWO ASKED ME TO HELP HER WITH HER ELECTRIC AS SHE HAD RUN OUT. !!! She has already blown over £600 in 10 days!.
I told her NO, I dont have it.
Which I dont really. The bank reserves are low, and then there is now a holiday coming up in a months time not budgeted for either. (Not that they know anything about it, yet. But DGD will probably mention it to her Mum and Auntie on Friday when they see her).
I wonder who she "bought" with all that money then?
I am very tired still, neck is sore now, from lifting little ones, and running around up and down the stairs.
Sitting with a heat pad, and a cup of tea. Hopefully I will not be suffering for too long, as I still have to pack etc etcWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Biggest of Mooloo's partner has left her.
She is gutted, and will need a lot of support, the baby is only 8 weeks old.
I would like to call him all the names under the sun, but whats the point. She will need me more then the twins will for a little while. I am sure that she is a strong girl and will bounce back, but its going to be a rough time for her.
I cannot do much for her, but I will listen, I will see her as much as I can, and I will do my best to point her in the right direction for where to get help.
Bit of a dampener for the weekend, but to be honest I cannot do much about it, so I am not going to worry. What will be, will be, and I will just have to be Mum as I have always been and thats all I can do.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

It is a godsend that I am strong at the moment, and not a month or so ago when I felt that I was not going to be able to carry on!!
How a few days makes a difference, and we non of us know what is around the corner.
So sad that the Baby's father is not able to work things out. Poor Biggest hadnt a clue until a few days ago that he was strange and distant with her, he was still talking about going to Hereford or somewhere for the bank holiday, and their holiday to america next year.!!! So it was very out of the blue to her. Bless her, she is in shock at the moment.
She is going to go to the council tomorrow about housing benefits etc.
Then she will have to contact Tax Credits I suppose.
Luckily she is on Maternity leave until February. So at least we dont have to worry about Child care immediately.
She lives in the opposite direction to me alas, and in a village that is out of the way without shops etc, and is more worried that she will not be able to afford the car as she has a large loan to pay at the moment.
(the previous boyfriend had left her in the mire too!!)
I have told her to come back on MSE and get all the advise and information that she will need. And asked her to check the terms of her PPI, so that she can see if they cover the payments of the loan while she is on Maternity, or if they will cover if she cannot return to work. Very complicated.
Alas I do not have the funds to help her. But here on MSE we can at least look at all the money making/saving things that will help her.
She didnt want to be a single Mum, like so many of them, and like her sisters. But at least I think that she will be able to keep her daughter as she is a good caring/loving and level headed girl. (Woman).
My heart is going out to her, but there is also that feeling of here we go again!
Think our lives may make that book yet! Poor Biggest, so soon after the new house and the baby. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hugs to biggest and to yourself, Mooloo,
Hopefully, her partner may see sense, but if not, she will manage fine. Maybe she wpuld be able to move a bit nearer to you in time.
Take care. xx0 -
Sending Hugs to Biggest, must be so tough to have to go through this with such a young baby.
