Does anyone know which charity shops take foreign coins?

I know Oxfam do, but we don't have one near us.
The chances are I'm never going to use them and don't know anyone who will. It's only shrapnel but I'd rather donate it than bin it IYSWIM.
I took some old coins to Help the Aged (or whatever they're called now!) a couple of years ago.

I have sorted out the loose change today, have £9 to take to the bank.(I am planning to be good & pay this off the CC) Am pretty much up to date with the washing up, and tonight I plan to tackle some ironing (fun eh?)

Yesterday sorted out a folder with papers in, I couldn't figure out what was wrong, but I had put everything in the wrong way round so the folder didn't work properly & everything fell out

Had fun yesterday writing a letter to the Council, and OH has posted it so that's out. (I had 7 days to respond according to them yet they can take as long as they like..)

I did buy a little purse yesterday in the Charity shop for 30p - a bit smaller than the one I've got, so should come in handy.

    Good morning all,

I am new here and motivated to start de-cluttering! I'm going to start small though and my aims for this week are:
    - filing pile
    - plastic recycling
    - glass recycling
    - baking cupboard

I also want to try and get on top of the paper and cardboard recycling. It doesn't get collected until July (!!!!) as we missed a collection last week as we were away but if I can bundle the paper and flatten the cardboard, it will be more organised and ready to go once collection day gets here. It's a daunting task though as I have a huge store cupboard FULL of it!

This weekend had far more ins than outs as we got back from the UK and always bring certain things back with us (teabags, custard, oxo cubes etc..) and we stayed with friends who have lots of pictures around which inspired me to sort ours out so also bought photo frames back. But, I am pleased to say that in my new motivated state, all of the luggage is unpacked and put away already, just need to get started on the washing tonight.

I know that some foreign exchange bureaus have charity boxes for foreign coins, our local M&S bureau definitely does.

    Morning All

Positive vibes for those who need it (won't do the hug icon, cos it looks a bit pervy IMO)

Thanks for healing messages re 'The eye' - turned out to be infected (ewwww), so Eye've (ha ha) got antibiotic drops which have to go in FOUR times a day!

so didnt do much decluttering over the weekend but I wore my sunglasses a lot :cool2:

Day 9 & 10, last Thursday and Friday

items 86-95 more bits & pieces for the blanket box, which is now full

Only 5 item short of target, not bad.

I think I would now like to aim for 100 things by the end of May.

Him Indoors is very good at that sort of recycling: it seems to be his mission at parties to clear the obscure liqueurs from cupboards and cabinets:rotfl:

Wow, everyone seems to be 're-homing' laods of stuff - well done!

I've been rather productive the last few days. Decluttered, cleaned, and mopped the utility room on Saturday. We had 'stuff' piled above the fridge freezer and tumble dryer, and they are now cleared and all that's there is my cards and gift wrapping supplies. Every time I go I get a little shock at how empty it is :) Also done loads of ironing and kept on top of the washing up which is odd for me as I usually lack the motivation to do it as I hate it!
    Since Sat
    OUT:
    Lots of recycling
Quite a few bits to the ebay/car boot boxes from utility room
Lots of packaging due to OH selling several lots of DVDs and Blu Rays :)
    Old paperwork
5 old hangers that were too small/rubbishy
2 mugs to OH's Grandad (pending - should be gone tomorrow)
Birthday presents and cards for DD's friend

    IN:
Food shopping today - all put away though and some consumed already!
Slippers for DD1 - out tomorrow though as they're for school

OH's grandparents are coming tomorrow again for tea which may become a regular thing which will help me keep on top of things as I want the house to look presentable when they come :)
    Extra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000
Original MF date Feb 2025. Currently Feb 2030:eek: Aiming for Jan 2025 :T
    Mortgage at [STRIKE]10/19 - £47,200[/STRIKE] 11/19 - £46,615

How spooky - like Eltee12 I've had eye infection too! So have decluttered old eyeshadows x4 & 2x mascarras and 7 brushes....
still got loads, but reckoned they were the ones I had used recently!
Trying to declutter in an MSE way, so now have 10 items to ebay.
Also talked landlord of the local to start a book exchange, so 20 paperbacks to the pub!

What's stopping any of us taking stuff down the charity shop now, rather than storing it to sell on ebay (with its attendant packaging) or car boot or whatever?

I managed some ironing last night & put the clothes away today, not that the room looks much different, now got washing hanging up there, as been not nice enough to hang outside. I also showed the kitchen floor the mop, killing some ants in the process, a good chance to do it while I had the house to myself!

Have added 1 picture to CS pile (now has 4 items).

And have sewed a button on OH's shirt so 1 less job to do - and (shameful to admit) this was the first time I've ever sewed a button on anything :o

Also paid loose change into bank & then have paid it onto CC.
