Hi,
I've got a 2k OD and 4k loan with RBS and am contemplating reclaiming £800 bank charges.
Has anyone else done this, with RBS and and did they close done your AC
Advise much appreciated!

My sister recieved a cheque for £100 plus £30 court fees last week from Alliance and Leicester. She recieved a letter today informing her they are closing her account.

Hello there, I have a cheque account converted to an overdraft in order to pay £11,000 debt on two credit cards. I missed one payment by accident and, in the same year, I fell behind with one payment for one month and First Direct politely asked me to leave. For years I had paid what must have amounted to thousands of pounds in charges, so I'd quite like to politely ask them for the return of some of that. However, I don't remember signing any contract re this 'overdraft', which I guess means they can change the goalposts at any time. They did discuss a contract, though I never received it. Two years after setting up the repayments, could I now insist on a contract to cover our 'gentleman's agreement' to prevent them upping the low interest rate to punish me when I begin the process of reclaiming six years of extortionate charges?

I think if Nationwide had treatened to close my account if I claimed I would swop and claim anyway - it is £60 of your money after all and they not only took it unlawfully, but then acted like a big bully by threatening to close the account.
You are a customer not a victim!0 -
Two weeks ago I sent Natwest my first letter reclaiming back my bank charges, since then the only responses I have recieved are "do you realise you are over you overdraft limit" well yeh because of charges AND????
I recieved a letter on Friday from Natwest asking for my cheque book and card back, me thinks they not my friend no more hhaaaa
This is funny because I have already openned a new bank account elsewhere so bring it on Natwest
Even better when all my bank charges are repaid so will my overdraft thats £2000 off my debt list.0 -
I sent my letter off 3 weeks ago to Nat West and I have not had a written reply yet. I phone them and they said I would gt an offer letter within 4 to 5 weeks. They told me they are paying out! Should I belive this or do they have to acknowledge my original letter by writing.0

Yes I reclaimed off of Lloyds for £800 and they gave me £750. They responded to the 1st letter taking 2 weeks and said NO. Then i sent about 5 letters on different days (the same content) and they finally responded after another 3 weeks saying that they would refund the charges although they did not agree unlawful. This only happend this week and they did not mention that they were going to close the account! But still waiting to see - i hope not i have a huge overdraft with them!:rolleyes:0 -
HSBC are defending my claim of 1400 and I received a 'Notice of transfer Proceedings' (No AQ). But here the THING how long does this take?
I have a 1250 overdraft which HSBC & they are NOW INSISTING I PAY IT BACK (AFTER 7 YEARS) They said in 2 weeks they will start charging me for it! Help someone should I threaten them with the Ombudsman and claim they are lying about their "periodical overdraft review" as it is clearly only because I want the 1400 charges back. If I do get the 1400 back I will pay off the overdraft obviously...HSBC ESPECIALLY seem to be getting very aggressive.0
