Hubby's razors are so expensive so i am trying to change those - i have bought cheaper before but he complains. Razors are what made me go over - bought his usual - £3 for 10 and also bought some cheaper ones for him to try again £2.05 for 20. I did buy him an electric razor but hes lost the lead for it!!
I know the quality of razors make a lot of difference. I used to shave legs and underarms with razors all time and cheap ones would last only one shaving session since they would cut my skin if I used them again. I buy the Match 3 big packets that are really expensive but a) I use them in my Venus razor too (same attachment), b) the cost per blade is less than in packets of 4, c) they last easily weeks, even used every day. Is he using foam or gel? Swap to gel since it is a bit easier to control and it is also more slippery so he can use the blade for a couple of days longer. Or tell him that blades go on his budget, take him to Boots and make him buy blades for the whole year Lol. Mine has also an electric one but the lead is attached to the stand so it is connected at all times on the wall, it is just switched off until needed. There is no way he can lose the lead that way. Ask for the price of a new lead, it might be a few pounds. Or have a look in eBay. Go offer hunting for those specific blades, see the brand website and look for a voucher there, etc. I think it is best tobuy those things in big packages and bulk when there is an offer, the packets of 4 are a robbery! What brand is it and how much do you usually pay?Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

 OMG! that is really expensive then! I asked my OH for how long he uses his, and he thinks about 20 times before he has to change the blade. Considering he does not shave everyday, that is months before he has to change it. It says in the packet that it lasts until the blue/green/whatever color the band is has started to disappear. Honestly, is like throwing away a sponge after one use. Mine prefers Gilette and not Wilkinson, he did say the Wilkinson ones didn't last that long, they went "rough" sooner. I have a Gilette Venus and he has a Gilette Match Turbo (I think). Well, it does not matter, I buy any Gilette for men blades (packets of 8 or more) and we both use those heads for ours. I change my blade once every three or four months the most, and he changes it roughly at the same time or a month earlier, depending how much he has been using it. He uses the electrical one often and the blade maybe only once or twice a week.
When you say 3 x £10, are you talking about the ones that come in a bag, those that are disposable and in one piece both the handle and the blade? The ones you cannot change the blade? If so, swap for the ones that have the blades in one box and the handle to keep. The blades for those ones are much much much better and he should be able to use one blade for the whole month even if almost shaving every day.
Or tell your OH how gorgeous he looks with stubble/beard... :rotfl:Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

A BIG well done to those of you who are coming in so much under budget :j
And an even bigger to those who don't quite make it, but keep on trying all the same :T The way I look at it is that we are all saving money, because, if we weren't paying attention, we would definitely spend moreHi folks, took up this challenge this month but havent posted due to our computer being sick! Will tally everything up and declare for tomorrow. Will take up the February challenge too. Its amazing how much you are more aware of what you are spending knowing you have set a target and have to report somewhere!I personally think that that - along with the tremendous support on this thread - is why people find the GC so helpful.

I spent a total of £66.50 (broken down to £54.50 Ts & £12.00 Ice), I've updated my signature already - I've spent a total of £344.92 this month, which means that I've saved an incredible £155.08 - I can't believe it, this is going to pay off one of the credit cards :j
Spends today of £2.16, as I discovered I didn't have any Feta cheese in the fridge for my planned tea - Caramelised Red Onion, Feta & Walnut Pasta....and you know how it is when you really fancy something, only to find you haven't got it? - so I went out and got someplus some carrots and a sweet potato.
I really shouldn't have to spend tomorrow, but will wait until tomorrow to declare.
As it stands - I'm at £242.25 out of £250
