crphillips wife dont like the look of highlander
but if you had a choice between firewarm 6 or villager chelsea duo (have you fitted these?) which one would it be,thanks to all. 0 -
I woke this morning with a headache, took one aspirin, headache gone in a short time. Tomorrow I have same, except this time I take one ibuprofen, headache gone in a short time. Different product names, same end result.=crphillips;39733456]Airwash and preheated airwash are not the same thing at all!
Bet you wear yer knickers on the outside of you're trousers eh, Super I'm The Only One That Knows It All Superstoveman............oh, with top of the range StoveMobile :rotfl:Suppose that's the benefit of actually being an installer is that I understand the difference between preheated and standard airwash.
I definitely fly better now knowing you’re not involved in aircraft anymore.Welda - Think it's you that needs to engage brain.

I certainly can't speak for all stove outlets, however CRP, I think it's fair to say its difficult to find an outlet with more than one stove in full use to play around with, certainly the big local outlet to me only has one in full use, I noticed my local Dobbies garden centre now sell stove, they are on show only. So again, difficult for a potential buyer to see various makes fired up and in full use. Plus the fact, you could potentially view a working showroom stove all fired up, crystal clear glass, when in fact all vents are open to keep glass clean.Brickie - please just go and take a look at some stoves.........have a play with them........see them running............ask about the airwash system.........see how the door handle and air controls feel.......if they feel naff then the stove is usually naff...........if they feel quality then the stove is usually quality...........see what your getting for your money......they vary massively.
Which is why folks like the brickie look at MSE rank and file members and ask for advice and their experiences, which of course we give freely, nor are we looking to boost our ego's.

Yeah the looks of the Dunsley are a bit boring....if your after the Villager/Hunter look then they're about your only choice.
I'd probably go for the Villager out of the two all though there's nothing in it. I only say Villager as they are a larger manufacturer but they did go bust around a year ago and got bought by Arada/Aarrow.......i don't reckon they're going anywhere soon. Always a bit wary of a company that goes bust in the middle of a solid fuel heating boom though:-) At least Aarrow have brought out some updated models now to try to rescue Villager.0 -
Brickie - Have you looked at the Esse 500? It's a bit more traditional and is a good stove for keeping the Glass clean? I reckon you'd be better with the Little Wenlock rather than the Villager or Firewarm6.0

/QUOTE]
Oh welda, NOT so! Ibuprofen is meant for muscular/arthritic pain and isnt really what you should take for a headache at all. The ibuprofen could also cause you a digestive problem, the aspirin much less likely to do so
I know this as Im now allergic to ibuprofen (caused by prior use) and if I accidentally have one I can end up with terrible indigestion
Overview
Ibuprofen is a pain reliever used primarily for arthritis.
It may also be prescribed for menstrual cramps, bursitis, tendinitis, sprains, strains and other painful conditions. It belongs to a class of medications commonly called NSAIDs or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Side Effects and Interactions
Unquestionably the most common side effects of ibuprofen involve the gastrointestinal tract. They include nausea, indigestion, heartburn, cramps, gas, constipation, and diarrhea.
Some people may develop ulcers and intestinal bleeding while taking ibuprofen.
Occasionally these problems can occur without obvious symptoms and lead to a life-threatening crisis due to perforation of the stomach lining.
Older people appear to be more susceptible to this problem and should be monitored carefully.
Sorry, off the subject

Doc........oops Hethmar
, twas a bit of tongue in cheek, can I change my example to disprin?
Fortunately I know stove priciples better than my medicines, I'm sure most would have grasped meaning of my post!
:beer:0 -
Just to set the record straight, Hethmar is spouting nonsense again. Aspirin is also an NSAID and is also indicated in stomach and gastric problems. I've just had the 'even low dose aspirin can rot your stomach' lecture from qualified pharmacist.0

thanks to everyone who posted:T well i have bought one:j after a chance encounter with a heating engineer working next door to the house i was working on he was fitting a stove a highlander and he gave me the name of a company who was selling them locallyish 60 miles away so i gave them a ring and after much haggling pleading begging and threatening i bought a highlander 5 for £520 he told me that 80% percent of the stoves they sell are highlanders and they have plenty of other makes in store so again thanks for all the info and hope your all friends after this:)0
