Just catching up and it seems as though you have been through the mill rather a bit this last week!

The only thing I would say, is that it is a credit to your parenting that your son felt comfortable enough to talk to you. Regardless of what happens now, that it an absolutely invaluable bond for you to have, and you will both benefit from that going forward.

Be proud of your son for speaking out - 14 year olds of any gender or orientation the world over are excellent in parent-communication-avoidance.....and be proud of yourself for being who you are too :T:T:T

  • Thanks folks. I am very happy that DS can speak to me but it appears he has tried to tell me a few times over the last few months and he has bottled it at the last minute. Wee soul. I just hope I can continue to be a good guide for him in the future. I will try as hard as I can to ensure I am.

I had the cops here tonight taking an official statement from DS re the creepy guy from a few weeks ago. Looks like he will be getting charged as there have been a few similar reports and the police have managed to put them all together and realise that it is the same nman in all of them. Just what I need at this time :rotfl:. Was on the phone to a friend though and said ' hey I wonder what take a break would pay for all this ' :rotfl:Might halp pay a debt off. See, we never need to look far for a positive ;).

I have finished about 3/4's of my ironing but have run out of coathangers as the occasion where all our clothes are washed and ironed at the same time is very rare :rotfl:. The same friend who did my washing said she has loads of spare hangers so I will go and pick them up tomorrow and finish it off.

All is on an even keel at the minute and I will still go with the flow. Thanks for the support. Much appreciated xx

    Trying to shift that debt!
  • It wouldn't surprise me tbh as he hasn't included them in any part of his life over the last 10 years. I just find it totally shocking that they can even go to Florida dn not take them. There are no other children involved. He has called hin from there to tell them how fabulous it was watching the space shuttle launching!!!! He should have been showing them not telling them. But hey after 10 years I doubt he will change. The kids are wise to him though so nothing really surprises us any more. He is not really that important to any of us.

    Trying to shift that debt!
  • We'll see, I'm probably wrong.

I'm having a nice wee day off today. Am not long out of bed :D. Long lie and then lay reading a magazine.

Just counted up my interest for the month. I thought this would be a great motivator but despite paying off over £700 to my debt this month my interest is only 1p less than last month :rotfl:. They really are thieving gits these companies and I cant wait to get rid of them one by one. I haven't reached my target of £750 this month yet so need to try and pay £47.52 by Friday to achieve this. If I get another maintenance payment then I will manage it otherwise this might be the first month in ages I will fail this :(. Never mind it's been a tough month in all ways so if I dont manage it then the fact that I am still standing and managing to smile will just have to be my motivator this time :rotfl:.

The sun is shining here today so am about to put on a washing and get it out to blow.

  • Hello!

I've avidly been reading your thread for the last half hour!!

Then it came to the part about your son being gay and i thought "what next!" If it is any consolation I am gay, partnered and have a lovely, happy life. Other half & I have been together for 7 years after meeting in a nightclub! For 7 years we've had an abundant playboy life with holidays in Antigua & Maldives & weekend breaks to New York where our heterosexual friends had nothing similar! Two years ago we were blessed with having a god daughter who warms our hearts. I thought it was nice that her parents recognised us as being a stable, happy couple but not only that; likely to be a positive influence on her!

Your son will have an amazing, happy life. It is all out there for him to take as his!

P.S I have just gone through my emails unsubscribing to different websites to stop me impulse buying off the internet.

What sort of father does that. I think hes a morron tbh but have to keep my mouth shut as the eldest dotes on him even though he hurts her all the time. Stu you have no idea how I needed a post like that. You made me smile so much. I have gay and lesbian friends. One plays the field but the other is married to her partner and they are very happy. Both of them adore their nieces and nephews and have great lifestyles. I have no worries about DS when he is older, it is the here and now that scares me for him. He has been bullied really badly in the past and I just reckon this will add another target to his back for all the eejits who think it's fun to make a wee boy miserable. I need him to have a fabulous secure circle around him for when (if) that happens and that's what I need to ensure I have in place for him before he 'comes out' fully. He is so happy at the minute. It's like a huge weight has been lifted. Bless him :D.

Jellybean. My kids are the same. They both love their dad, quite rightly too, but they are well aware of his shortcomings. That's just cr*p what your ex is doing to your kids.

Anyway to money. I got £100 from CSA today so I am going to pay £75 to Tesco and put £25 of petrol in the car as I need to get through until Friday with the pitiful dribble I have left in my tank at the minute. I have been to and fro over this money as I have loads to get and do over the next couple of months, but I need to get rid of this debt ASAP and as soon as I get tesco paid off then I will stop overpaying until I get Christmas and DS's birthday organised. My new rate of maintenance is due to start on 1st October so I should hopefully get it about the 15th and then weekly thereon. I have £20 left from my child benefit as well and will get £40 tax credits on Thursday so I will stick that on my ASDA card and get a big shop at the weekend. The kids will be pleased :rotfl:.

Again Stu, Many thanks. You have cheered me right up as I was pretty down today
