PPI Party Pooper Debt-free and Proud!
HI MIT - Even though a bit stressful I bet your mum loved having everyone around.

I finally put our little tree up last night but cant find the lights - probably in one of the unpacked boxes still from the move. We didnt unpack all the dining room stuff as the extension goes on next year and there is just no space. Doesnt look the same without lights but my brother says he might have some for us :D

Hope the weather has settled there a bit now for you. I awoke to a light dusting of snow this morning and it was falling when I put the horses in their field - they always seem so amused by it - I love watching them playing about in it :D
  • No snow here at the minute just rain.

Went to bank today to pay in a cheque. Woman behind the desk said could she speak to me about a loan and I said no. She then asked if she could speak to me about my CC and I said yes talk away. They were offering a 0% transfer for 9 months and I said yes look and see if I can get it but I was doubtful and reckoned I would get turned down. Turns out I didn't get turned down and the guy said he has only seen 2 people with a better credit scoring than me before :p. I was offered 5k on the spot for 9 months with 17.9% after that which apparently again is unheard of :rotfl:. How exciting is that? Considering not long ago I was told I was at my lending limit and egg wouldnt give me a transfer. Just shows what overpaying can do to help your credit rating. He then wanted me to transfer my Halifax card onto it but thats only 10% whereas my MBNA is 29% and Barclaycard is 16% so I said transfer them instead. I am really pleased as I am sure I can manage to pay this off before the 9 months and saved a fair bit in interest. Best bit is my credit rating though as major repairs seem to have been done there :D.

I bought myself some trousers and 2 tops today and they were 30% off :D. Very happy with that. Then my bubble got burst. My work are shifting me onto another section :(. This is a similar job to one I have done before and it means no staff BUT I loathed the other job. My mind is in a whirl tonight as I cant decide whether to just get my head down and get on with it and make the best of things or to et a transfer request in and transfer closer to home and save myself an hours travel each day, not to mention the petrol. If I'm going to be bored at work I may as well be closer to home. I need to think about it. I have baked and cleaned whilst trying to clear my thought and I must say I am talking myself round. No staff :D no hassle:D same wages :D. I mean really ! Whats my problem here :rotfl:. I'll go with the flow I reckon and if it is absolutely awful I will ask to transfer.

I have 2 nights out this weekend . I hope I cope :rotfl:. I'll definitely do my best. Wrote some cards tonight so at least I have started doing Christmas and made some gingerbreads for work tomorrow. It's nearly the weekend folks :D xx

Fantastic news about the credit card - hoorah! It's funny how those of us with big debts often have good credit ratings!

I reckon a few months of low-stress work is worth going for, can you request a transfer any time?
    Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.62

  • I reckon you are right Sea. I have talked myself right round to it and am actually okay about the change of job now. I can ask for transfer any time but it depends if there is a vacancy on whether I would get it or not or if someone wanted a straight swap with me. I'll give the new job a try first :).

I am feeling a bit fragile today :o. 2 nights out in a row at the age of 46 is just plain silly :rotfl:. I am shattered. I've had a smashing weekend though so it is all worth it. I have also spent a fortune. Nearly finished doing Christmas now. Just 3 presents ( all small) and 9 bottles of wine to buy for my staff and that will be me all done. I will be skint too :rotfl:.

I'm looking forward to the new year. I'm hoping to get rid of the majority of the Christmas debt in January. My 100 day challenge is to pay £1000 extra by March so that is the minimum plan. I also want to have the money to do my son's built in wardrobe by easter. Then going to try and get the money for new gutters to be one before next winter as I have a little bit of damp in my bathroom and I know its from the gutters. So I will try and save £30 per week towards these things from next week and go from there. My mind is full of plans that I want to do but I will start a new diary soon and set down everything in writing and see what I can achieve.

  • You'll be run off your feet Jelly this week. Thats all to the good though :D.

DD bumped my car tonight  rolled back into a new BMW which belonged to a cop :eek:. Looks like there is no damage but have told him to let me know if he finds any. I am praying not as her excess is £500 :eek::eek: :rotfl:. Poor soul was devastated and crying her eyes out. What a wee shame. She was doing me a favour too so I could get on with my baking. Tonight I have made :- custard creams, Chocolate fudge cake, Bakewell tart and 2 gingerbreads. I love cooking and have had a lovely evening. I just wish my dishwasher worked :rotfl:. Only spent £1.50 today other than Christmas odds and ends. Funny how you keep thinking you are finished and then you just have to buy that last wee item - or ten :rotfl:. Anyway I hope you are all fabulous and all excited waiting on Santa. I am

I have all my end figures for the year so as soon as I have time I am going to check where I stand in comparison to the beginning of the year when I started this diary. I'm excited about doing that in a strange geeky way :D

  • Decided just to do the sums just now before I tackle the dishes. Some things looking good and I have cleared £5676.49 from debts this year :D. I had set myself a target of reducing total debt from £68, 999.61 to under £63k but I am £323.12 over that. Never mind. Just think if I han't used my card for Christmas then it would be much lower than that. Anyway figures as follows

    Secured loan was £ 19,00896 now £ 18,303.88
    Mortgage £28,705.35 now £ 27,574.45
    Overdraft £550 now £ 550
    Credit cards £16,072.35 now £ 14,727.35
    Loan £ 3,462.45 now £ 2,167.44
    Car £1,200 now £0 :D

So all in all not bad going. Everything except the overdraft is down so it's all going in the right direction. Happy :D.

At the end of the month I will do my spends for the year and then set targets for next year and away I'll go. I am delighted that I have been here all year and all is well :D

  • I'm finished :j. No more shopping :j. I have all pressies in and just the kids stuff to wrap. I have enough food for the whole street and enough booze for ...................hmmm well me :rotfl:( some things we just dont share ) .

So I feel good that it is all done. I have spent £900 on gifts and £200 on food and drink so £1100 in total. My plan next year is to save £100 per month and at least come next year I should have the cash for it. DD going to give me posh nails now so I'll be back later x

  • nails all done and considering DD has just started doing the tips she has done pretty well. I am likng them lots. I reckon this is going to be on my pamper list when I have any money. They have wee gems and everything on them but I must say it is rather hard to type with them on :p. Never mind only 2 more days in work and then off for 11 whole days :D:D:D.

Well I put in for a transfer today to a more local office. The more I thought about things I realised I have been unhappy for a while so it is time to move and the travel etc would make a massive difference to my life. Plus the fact it would be very MSE as my petrol bill would drastically reduce. I e-mailed the manager who deals with both local offices and asked her if she had any vacancies. She's an old buddy so I wasn't surprised when she phoned me right away. She has nothing right at this time but both offices are due a rejig and there might be something coming up so she will keep me in mind. I dont know why I didnt do this long ago tbh and I am rather excited about it now. Anyway its late so good night xx
