  • Lord above, it was bad here but sounded dreadful there.

Hope you are all safe and well x
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • This is the worst weather I have ever seen in my life. I reckon no power soon. Our office closed just before lunch and we were all sent home. All the schools were closed. Trees are down all over the place. My house walls are shaking and garden furniture is falling all over the garden.

A man had a tree fall on his car on the A82 but I think he is okay.

Our boss said we could go home if we felt we had to but office would remain open. That lasted until the pub across the road's windows blew in :(

Its 18 years since I last lived in Scotland but I can remember the rough weather well. Hope its all died down now! Mind you, in March we will be sitting down here in the South in our t-shirts!! Global warming!!!

  • We are all quite hardy witht he weather and we are all well used to wrapping up warm and truth be told we probably feel the cold a lot less than you do down south but it is mega cold just now. DD and I were cleaning the house we clean today adn I swear I thought my toes were going to fall off as there had been no heating on in the house all week. -4 here today bbrrrrr. Just a wee flurry of snow but other than the icy rain its been lovely :rotfl:.

Been a bit of a spender today as DS's birthday and I took him and his friend to laser tagging and to Pizza Hut. They had a great day.In the same place where the laser tagging is there is an indoor karting place and it was phenomenal. I tried to book them into there but it was fully booked :(. It was full of men having a blast. I want a go :p.

Money just seems to be running through my finges like water just now. I need it to stop. No maintenance received this week either but I'm sure it'll be the CSA at fault rather than ex OH. I'll call them on Monday and chase it up. I'll hopefully get 2 weeks worth this week and completely finish my Christmas shopping and start back on money saving ASAP. I'm actually looking forward to getting back on the straight and narrow as I am not comfortable spending so much and I still spend nothing on myself :o. One day though I am going to just lift about £500 and go and have a spree and spend every penny on ME but not until I'm free of debt and I do it with savings :D.

I hope you are all well xx

  • Evening folks. Been a busy day today. Ironed from when I woke up until I went into my mum's at lunch time. My lovely friend took all my washing again to her launderette and washed everything for me including my bedding :D. I now have 2 more baskets to iron mind you.

My mum wanted to go out today to try and get in the mood for Christmas but there is no way she is fit for that. I had to say no and I felt like a heel as she was so disappointed. She is so sick that she needs her carer to wheel her into he bedroom as she no longer has the strrength to do it herself but she wanted me to get her in and out of the car twice and also take her around a supermarket. I love her and I would do anything for her but even with a friend with me that would b eimpossible. She would be exhausted. Anyway I went to Morrisons for her and spent £ 160 so she was quite happy :p. Spent a few hours cooking and cleaning for her and came home at 7.30 and collapsed onto couch with the x-factor. I bouht a few things in Morrisons for myself today as well and another present for a friends daughter. Nearly there with the shopping. My monthly budget for food is almost done though so no way will I manage that one this month as I still have 20 days to go .

I hope you are all coping getting ready for the festivities

  • Just about love.

Aww your mum, sounds like she is a real positive thinking, keeping going type.

You are a really good daughter to her.

Hope the weather warms a little this week. We are bitterly cold here too, the wind is icy.

its worst first thing on a morning think it was mnus 2 first thing, but it was up to 6 degrees by the time I got to work.

This time last year it was minus 15, that can JOG ON! Longer it stays away the better.
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Yes we had the minus stupid degrees. I think it was -22 at its lowest  might be exaggerating but I know the grit wasn't working on the roads as the temperature had gone below its maximum capacity. Another severe weather warning for here for the weekend though. Happy days .

Only bought lunches today so am happy enough with that. Had DD's parents night tonight and she is doing 3 Highers this year and needs 1A to do the course she wants to do and :eek:hey are all expecting her to get A's so fingers crossed guys.

Morning MIT - fingers crossed for DD - no pressure then or what lol - poor girl.

Your weather sounds horrendous but at least you have managed to get on top of the washing / ironing by the sounds of things. Its always a constant struggle with 5 in our household :D
  • lol I am never in control of the washing and ironing. My friend is just ensuring I dont drown in it :rotfl:. The 2 baskets she washed at the weekend are still to be ironed and the washing basket is full yet again .

Ended up having a wee cheap lunch out with a friend today and tomorrow is Christmas lunch in the canteen. Hopefully it will be edible ;).

Watching gypsy wedding. I love their sense of community etc but OMG those outfits .

Got my maintenance today so that is good as I have 2 nights out this weekend and needed it :D. You can see I have my priorities right

  • I sympathise with the wind poor you. Hope you get a sleep.

Shattered tonight as went to mums straight from work with DD, DS, my niece, my brother and my SIL to get her tree and decorations up. We went for the best of reasons and thought she would love us all being there but she was exhausted and was etting way too excitable and stressed. Never mind. Tree is now up an her place looks all festive. More than mine does . My tree is in the middle of the floor but has no decorations on it yet :rotfl:. I need a week off to get organised :o. So we got home at 9pm and I had a bag of chips for dinner. Kids had mcdonalds earlier but I had a Christmas lunch in work today so my indigestion hadn't settled yet to eat then :rotfl:. Chilling now and off to bed soon. Hope everyone is well x
