Tina - simple but very effective...........:T

My days been taken up with hospital and seeing the 'boffin' in the hope he'd say things weren't as bad as he thought.............not so  This is about as good as it'll get........though he did say to keep on with physio and he didn't say I wouldn't walk again -meantime, my wheelchair/walking frame and sticks are forever friends...................lol
Mustn't get too down about it........there are folk worse off than me I know.
Now I'm looking for motivation -stuff to do thats easy and will focus my mind on something else.
    (sorry............do sound a bit of a misery don't I)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

  • Aww Mary, i don't know what's happened but you sound like you need a hug :grouphug:

I'm sure there will be lots of things to try and keep your mind occupied judging by some of the crafters on here.

    Thinking of you x

Thought I'd post my latest knitting make. My very first scarf, and I am really pleased with it. It was going to be a present for next christmas, but I love it so much that I have worn it for the last 2 days - oops. My first attempt at knitting something to wear, and think I have made it too wide, as I have to fold it in half lengthways, so if I make anymore as presents, think I would work with about half the stitches, and hopefully that will make it quicker to knit. Took me a couple of hours a night over 2 1/2 weeks to make. I love the 2 tone wool I found in a local cheapy shop.

Thanks Casey really kind of you - remember though all the projects i pick are really simple (a bit like me lol!) so anyone can do them.

It was my FIL birthday at weekend and as a stocking filler i got him a big bar of chocolate and a bottle of red wine he likes. i thought i would dress them up to make them less boring. Self explanatory how i did it but some instructions on my blog if anyone isn't sure.

Tina your makes are gorgeous!! I've been popping onto your blog every few days. They look so professional, especially compared to mine! How do you manage to get them looking so professional? I always end up with wonky edges and not so straight lines. Don't get me wrong, you can tell it's homemade, just not in the way I'd hoped for! :rotfl:x

Mary - I admire your courage and bravery. Don't forget that you have the right to feel exactly how you do feel and no-one can take that away from you. Own your emotions. If you feel like having a down day, you do just that. Likewise if you feel like being the life and soul of the party one day, do it! You are allowed to feel, whether it's happy, sad, cross, pain, a sense of loss, grief....Yes, there are people worse off than you in the world, but that doesn't make your experiences any less important or real. Sending hugs. Keep your chin up x

CT that's really pretty and unique. :T

Well I'm afraid I haven't been able to do much crafting lately. Relationship difficulties and an impending house move that we only just found out about :( But I've been able to do a bit of some of the simple stuff - several cards. More modern than some of the ones in the local craft shop, but very simple as I was working to a deadline. I gave one today to a friend who has helped me out and she was so touched by it she nearly cried :o So even though novice is an understatement I must be doing something right!

OH and I didn't celebrate Valentines Day. It was a bit heartbreaking amid the problems we were having, but we're working through it and making great progress :o Anyway what I wanted to share with you was that I, swept up in the emotion of fixing our relationship I made him a gift. I used an old clintons card box (from the big expensive cards we used to buy *cringe!) and filled it with petit four cases and greaseproof paper. Total cost so far about 25p. :money: OH has his own top secret truffle recipe so I thought I'd surprise him by making box of his own in a different recipe....keep hm guessing too! I filled the A4 box with silky smooth ganache truffles. He loved it!! Total cost approx £2.50 as opposed to the cheap and nasty chocolates in Netto or £12 for a Thorntons box. :money:
    Engaged since 25/12/2009

Well I was engaged. Until we separated on 8th March :( Here's hoping that having a break will help us solve all our problems. Until then I'm a single mum on a tight budget :(
