It was made using silverclay/artclay
Sorry to be a pain, can I ask where you got the silver clay from? I just looked on ebay and the proces are quite expensive for just 10g. Would 10g be enough to do a couple of small hearts or circles for my 2 childrens finger prints?
Thanks for the advice.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
tina - thanks for the link. Saved that to 'favourites' for now.
Been making more birthday cards this morning. Got three done and tucked away in my index box so quite pleased with myself. May only be a little bit done but better than nothing.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I made a tube in cotton and divided it into 2 pockets (fill one, sew across, then fill the second)
Mine held 2 bags of long grain (not easy cook ) rice.
I then made an outer cover in another material. Pillowcase style to hold the inner bag, and all french seams as it will be washed regularly.

Evening all, I made my first piece with Silver clay, bit scary but not to bad for a first attempt, I need to get the proper dinky cutters for my next attempt as I shaped it by hand (I know you can tell!);
The thumb print didn't work quite as well as I'd hoped but next time (I think I'm addicted!!). The heart was made out of 7 grams of clay, below is a picture of the clay next to a Champagne cork to give you an idea of the size (it's all I had to hand very random I know)
I bought a kit from Metal Clay for £15.95, but I've just checked and it doesn't seem to be on their site anymore, just the more expensive versions - the link is http://www.metalclay.co.uk/categories/Metal-Clay/Kits-%26-Sets/0 -
Hi all, just stumbled across this thread for the first time! I wondered if anyone has any more info or links about how to use the silver clay products. Also, how finely/delicately can you roll it down? I'm currently making sugar narcissi for my wedding cake and I LOVE them!! I wondered if it would be possible to use the silver clay to make some to keep? What kit would I need? The sugar ones are made on wires coated with green paper that you buy ready made from the sugar craft shop. WHat could I use in place of these with silver clay?0

ive made wheat bags this last winter as i refused to pay £10 each for them, i found offcuts of material in my local habadashery for £1 and bought a bag of duck food/wheat from local pet shop. the material i sewed into a tube sewed almost 3 sides then took a quite largish funnel and funneled in the duck wheat and finished sewing by hand. easy cheap and very fast to make took less than 15 mins to make 2:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0
