rufusd!!!2 wrote: »Cuddles, lovely necklace, well done xx. I made some button necklaces for Christmas presents last year. I tried every way I could to get them to hang properly but couldnt work it out so in the end I drilled small holes in opposite edges of some large buttons then tied them together with bits of black cord until I had enough of a "string" of them for half a necklace then just put a longer length of cord for the rest of it. I made myself one and wore it with the knots on the back so you couldnt see them but the girls I made them for all liked them with the knots showing on the front, said it was more rustic. I think theres a pic of one of them on my homepage, have to go back to end of last year. I think yours looks a lot more professional than mine, its really nice. How did you join the wire onto the cord?
Rufus I was the same. Used fuse wire and made a loop at each end. Threaded suede through and tied wire to suede between each button with fine thread.
Sure there must be a better way though.
I wore it today and had 2 lovely comments.
Was also stopped and asked about my little knitting brooch :rotfl:Jack of all trades ... Master of none

Here is a door plaque i have done for one of my nieces..It was so quick and easy and instructions are on my blog. i am now addicted to wooden crafts and everyone will be getting wooden plaques and wooden bookmarks! - its all your fault Midnight traven for the fab wooden signs you did last year and the link for the craft shapes:rotfl:
What a lovely plaque you have very neat writing.
For the owl pinnie, I traced a picture I found online and did my best attempts at embroidery - thankfully it turned out looking like an owl0 -

Well I've finished making my buttercup bag - pretty pleased with it think I will do the strap differently next time and attach it when I sew the lining in so it is a bit neater.

I did find it fairly easy to make esmer - would definitely say it is a good project for beginners although at time I found the instructions from made by rae didn't tell me exactly what I needed to do and so had to read through them a few times and use the pictures to try and work it out.Silence is golden...unless you have a toddler.
