Ha! See, even the kack-handed such as I can turn mere yarn into masterpieces...

Before you are placed a "puffed heart" and my very own composition of mini lampshade/mouse catcher!!

An afternoon spent teaching myself crochet via You Tube!

    Nellis,

Your attempts look far better than mine ever would if i was to try crochet!!

Just made a personalised photot frame as a pressie for my niece. It was really easy and might be a good idea for xmas pressies or mothers day. It started out as a plain brown frame. instructions on how to do it on my blog if anyone wants to make one.

Mary, I did the actual knitting on very thin needles. I then smoothed the cocktail sticks with an emery board and transferred.
I bought strips of magnets which are self adhesive from The Works for 99p and stuck them on. A few dabs of craft glue at the end of the stitches to stop them falling off and hey presto :j

I really want to do something similar for sewers, but can't think what to use for a needle :(

tina - love the frame :T

nellis - never could crochet............wouldn't dare try I made such a muck up years ago when I had a go
Well done.............better than I could even think about doing:T

cuddles - can't believe I've just sat knitting with cocktail sticks............lol:rotfl:Think I cast on too many stitches but OH says it looks like a piece of knitting................lol
Think I'll do it on skewers next time -bit bigger for me. Don't have any knitting needles as haven't done any knitting for years. Old fingers play up after a while but can just about cope with something that size.........lol Just so pleased I've done one:T

Pep pop - love the needles but how do you get the hold in skewers to make them ? Or can you buy them like that..........the ones I've got are just like bigger versions of cocktail sticks.
Super buttons..........good idea to put them on a magnetic strip especially for a male pressie..........have to go through my various buttons and see what I've got
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Do any of lovely ladies have any ideas for boys gifts for a pixies and fairies party?

I'm making fairy wings for the girls (and they'll get either a bag of fairy dust or a pouch of coins) but am stuck for ideas for the boys :(

Someone has mentioned swords, but I know that some parents can be funny about their kids having 'weapons'.......
