... in the name of research I have made two half pinnies!! They have got progressively better and the third one which I'm making as a gift for my mums neighbour is nearly complete.
These are the first dodgy two...
No idea why but I love the fabric for the second one - I'm going all retro... Good use of holey old curtains though I think0 -
If anyone wants to make pressies for people who knit, I've made these.
Can be magnets or brooches.Jack of all trades ... Master of none

Love the pinnies:T
Got a sort of 'apron project' on the go at the minute..........OH found a plain cream apron lurking in a drawer so I've put a border across the pocket with some free fabric I've got but it needs a flower or two appliqued on to it and I can't find any fabric with anything on it that will look right.......have to shelve that one for the time being I think.
Also having a go at painting some little signs.......ones a rolling pin shape for foster daughter, the other is a small oval one for her OH...........just need to practise a bit more painting letters..........been a while since I did it.
cuddles -love the little knitting things:T What have you used for needles ? I know just the person to make one of those for but as a magnet rather than brooch I think:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Our first project at high school in sewing class were aprons, full type with a pocket. These are great. I sam sure we had some curtains a bit like the 2nd one in the late 70s when I was small!Donna
Economy; careful management; providence. Whether you call it thrifty or frugality it all comes down to getting more for your money.0 -

Thanks Trow - I didn't use a pattern (often why I go wrong:eek:) , I've put the instructions on my blog. It's a case of put material around yourself and cut oblong shape of correctish length/ width, then make ties and sew together. The one I've been making today I did follow a pattern, I'll post the details when I see the finished result - definately looking more positive and even easier
Pootleflump - unfortunately someone on here has already lured me over to the sewing room but I'm only on page 63I'll get to the end before Christmas though :T

Thanks for all the advice re the buttercup bag think I'm going to go for the small original one as I only use a handbag when going out without my little man so only needs to be small.
Went to ikea today and got some lovely fabric so going to start it in a little while.
this is the fabric http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00135495Silence is golden...unless you have a toddler. In that case silence is very, very suspicious!0 -
