No problem, im currently doing one with brown and white stripes, will get a pic up asap. He looks far cuter than my first attempt...even if i do say so myself, i managed to get 4 pairs of fluffy socks in different colours in the £ shop and thought they would be softer than traditional socks!

is there a poem i could possibly tie round my monkeys neck before giving him as a gift? Hes for a six year old.

Your sock monkey is lovely punkpink. I can't believe that is your first attempt, well done you. :T

I always make mine with fluffy socks although they do make a mess especially the stripey ones shedding fluff all over the place. They block the machine as well if you're not careful!

Here are some of mine I made for last Christmas. I've just bought 8 pairs of socks in Primani for £1 a pair to make some more. :j






This one was my first ever sock monkey, made for my Grandaughter's 13th birthday. As she asked for money for her birthday, when I saw the little purse I thought it would be ideal for 'Star' to hold with some money in.

Heres my brown monkey, what do you guys think? Can i give this one away as a prezzie?

ETA: i do have to add a mouth to the brown one, just working out the best way to approach it!

Thank you :embarasse lol, i agree with the mess using fluffy socks, but they just look so cute....and i have to admit, i don't have the sewing machine prob, i havn't been using one!

Thank-you, and thanks to all the MSE's who gave me the idea, i think i may become obsessed! Got a pink/purple/white one next for the other neice...otherwise they may fight over this one!

I have just started to make christmas decorations for the family, I was only going to make a couple but now I think that I am going to make everybody one.

Have spent some time reading through this thread and really enjoyed all the ideas; it's made me very enthusiastic about making presents for Christmas. I've made coaster calendars and sets of decorated magnetic pegs already and have started turning old placemats into blackboards for the kids. Also decorating photo frames and boxes with decopatch. Love seeing what people will come up with next!
