Aren't they also considering reviewing people over 65 as well? I heard that this is on the cards as this category is least likely to inform the DLA people if their condition improves?
Maybe I heard it wrong - so don't you old codgers jump on me!!!
people over 65 get AA only people over 65 on DLA got it before they became 65, I suspect that when they have moved people from IB to ESA and then done all the DLA to PIP they will start on the over 65 left on DLA those getting close to 65 on DLA moving to PIP will see there claims on being moved ending at 65 and being told to claim AA or whats new, this stright away stops all there mobility claims as on AA there is no mobility just Care as for the AA claims they will make whats the new AA harder to claim so fewer get it IMOIn London, you're never more than 20 feet away from someone telling you you're never more than 20 feet from a rat .0 -
Certainly taking the mobility component of DLA away from over-65s would make sense as a move towards achieving the 20% reduction. Removing the lower rate care would achieve some reduction, but would it be enough? No, there are going to have to be a lot of cuts here and there, and PIP is the ideal opportunity to take DLA away from all sorts of people.0

I hope that Merlin doesn't cancel his claim just because of the future changes, though. He can always cancel his claim if he doesn't want to go through with being reassessed when the changes come in. It's a personal choice, though, isn't it?0

By doing either of these things, they're going to cause hardship to many. LRC is £18.95 per week. If you claim IBJSA, you get a £28 disability premium, plus the £25 a week CWPs. When you go back to work, you also get WTC.
Take lower rates away from me, how on earth am I going to pay for my disability related items? Communication needs alone are half of my DLA care and then there's things like the extra washing, replacement of clothing, etc. How am I going to pay for my swimming? If I go swimming, I am pain free. Physio never worked for me and left me in more pain afterwards.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

We plan to introduce the new benefit in 2013/14, when we will begin reassessing the working age (16-64 year olds) caseload. We are considering whether to reassess children and people aged over 65.

IBJSA will end when your moved to ESA and if your not in the support group after one year it becomes means tested too the one year date will be one year after you are moved this move of groups will also open up another can of worms like haing to go to meetings to talk about what you are doing when you go back workIn London, you're never more than 20 feet away from someone telling you you're never more than 20 feet from a rat .0
