I applied for the lloyds credit cards and received the free miles as promised. I booked a weekend in Paris with hotels through the Airmiles system.
BA went on strike and I was told that my flights were cancelled. I was given the alternative of flying that day and returning the next (day trip) so the weekend was lost.
Airmiles would not repay any of the hotel costs or the airmiles as I did not have travel insurance through Airmiles. I have BA travel insurance and Lloyds insurance (default with the account) but this does not count.
Therefore, with BA staff still in strike mode beware any of these offers as the "free miles" are valid for one year.0 -

can i get credit card free of charge?0

Hi i'm thinking of applying for the BA airmiles Amex credit card. To apply for the card it says you must have atleast a household income of £30,000. Personally i have an income of just under £10,000 but i live with my parent which bumps up my household income to well over the £30,000 threshold. Am i eligible to apply for this card as it says' 'household income' means your income plus that of your partner or spouse's.'' So according to what they say i cannot include my parents income in my household income.
- If i put down my household income including my parents income is that fraud? and will the credit refrence agencies pick up on it and hamper my credit rating? ( i know credit ratings are really a rating and vary from lender to ledder so please dont correct me)
- will the fraud detection company (National Hunter) also pick up on it, as on previous applications i've put my income as £10,000 so if all of a sudden my income jumps to say £60,000 will it flag my application?
any help would be much appreciated.0 -
If I load my Halifax Clarity Card with the cash that I expect to withdraw abroad before I leave, will I be charged for withdrawing it? If there's no withdrawal charge and only interest on any credit is charged, then as I will be in credit when I withdraw cash there 'shouldn't' be any charges? Perhaps another 'freebie' opportunity?0

I believe their T&C's state that you cannot have a credit balance and that they will return it to you.7.7 You must not make payments or transfer funds from another credit or store card to your account that would leave a credit balance on your account. We may return any funds that exceed the balance owing on your account to the account from which the money was sent.0

Hi
I have a website running in Thailand, and in admin there is an option to choose the default currency between USD and Thai Baht. I have taken a copy of the website and hosted it on UK servers and want the default currency set to UK £GBP.

I applied for the citibank card whilst the £30offer was still on and I just got a letter today to say that I have been accepted but no offer of the £30 vouchers. Do you think I will still get them?Welcome to my paintings website0
