  • Whats the deal with getting hold of the amazon points, my statement was made a few days backbut cant see points anywhere and havent got an email yet.
  • I signed up for the American Express card to get 6000 points but they have not all been put on. (I believe this was a big problem 9 months ago or so when Martin had to chase them up about it.) Anyone been successful yet?

I logged on today to see if anyone had been sucessful, I only got 1006 points with my statement yesterday, I got one in OH name last year and it was a big problem but they did give extra points as a sorry, hopefully MArtin will kick !!! if they start again.
  • I've just applied for the American Express card too, spent on it and got awarded 1005 points by them. I think martins article states that Nectar themselves will award anothe 2000 points. I'm not sure about the other 3000pts though...

My wife used their 0% to pay off a loan on the Amazon. We both had to chase quite hard to get the 2x £25 vouchers. All used and my Amazon carrd is already cancelled.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%

Have just been informed by Natwest that it is replacing its Airmiles scheme by the "Natwest YourPoints" travel scheme. The new scheme appears better in that it will give 1 point for every £1 spent and ebooker will "power" (their word) the scheme which will include travel on Easyjet. Short on details but seemed good.

Not mentioned in their coloured leaflet or their "your questions answered", but only in my personal letter well down the page, I am informed that IT WILL COST ME £3 A MONTH TO REGISTER FOR THE NEW SCHEME.

I have since read - Natwest didn't mentioned it in their letter to me - that if you spend less than £1000 a month you have to pay to join the scheme!!!

Despite being with Natwest for over 15 years it looks as though they will be losing a customer. I don't want to pay for my credit card - any suggestions? is there any way that this new scheme will be worth paying for? perhaps Martin or someone with access to Natwest will be able to get more info on their scheme.

Mcgsp--That's a really useful bit of info re the charge for the new Natwest scheme. I have been wondering about whether to stay with this new Natwest points scheme or stay with Airmiles and swap my NatWest card for the new Lloyds /Airmiles card. I will read their small print form the pronotional stuff that arrived yesterday, to see if they are also going to charge. They are making a big deal out of the fact that the new card will give twice as many Airmiles as the old Natwest one-- 1 mile for £10, not £20. I smell a rat and it may be that there is a charge-- let's check.
I am leaning towards staying with Airmiles, (Despite the poor value that you get in the whopping taxes having to be paid in cash -- unlike the new Natwest card deal with Easyjet) charges allowing , as I have the old Tesco deal going with them of 80 miles per £2.50 Tesco voucher, now credited automatically. Will report back with news on Lloyds/Airmiles card.

Hope this is in the right place. Just received notice that Airmiles credit card are parting company with Nat West. They have both sent me details of their new offers but the information is incomplete, unless I don't understand very well on a Saturday morning!
Nat West are starting their own points scheme with E-Bookers but you cannot combine this this Nectar or Airmiles points. Existing accounts will be automatically transferred to this.
Airmiles have linked with Lloyds TSB and are offering 2 cards, AMEX and Mastercard. I don't understand, why would I want 2 cards?

I just called the NatWest advice line for the new scheme and checked about the charge. It seems that it is only on certain cards that you have to spend £1K p.m. I was told that with my "type of card" there is no such charge. My cards ( One NatWest "Airmiles" and one plain Natwest ) appear to be bog standard, no Gold or Platinum or whatever. In fact I have hardly used the plain Natwest one. Anyone else got contrary info?

Re the new Loyds/Airmiles deal, I have read their factsheet and it explicitly says there is no annual fee. There is also no monthly charge if you don't spend enough.

Hard to tell which is the best value right now. The 1 mile for £10 spend on the Airmiles only last till May 08. Also, if you have a load of Airmiles already, that is a factor in the choice.
